  1. Re: Product Unavailable

Yeah...within the next two months, we'll have a HUGE gaming store opening up, called +1 Gaming... I am already talking to the owner... well...I emailed the owner... I am trying to run demos of hero to generate interest and get the stuff on the shelves...

I think Hero Games should run an MIB (Demo-monkey) program like SJ games

  2. Re: Product Unavailable

Hero products are available from all major distributors. Who does he use that's having so much trouble? Also' date=' retailers can order directly from us. Honestly, we're not that hard to find. dw[/quote']

believe it or not... your products are hard to find in stores... I used to work in a game store and all of the major suppliers would tell us the same thing... "Nope, we don't carry that"...

Now that I am just a consumer, there is not one store in our entire metro area that carries them... Most people don't think about ordering gaming books online. It's a Major issue because most gamers want to play something that is eady to get ahold of and is supported by the local community. If they don't see hero games in the shop, they assume no one plays it because it's not supported... Most of the new generation of gamers has no idea that hero exists because they don't see it in their local stores...

  3. Re: Gravity powers

Thing is....In star hero, they recommend Artificial Gravity be modeled by using TK. It can go up to 4gs. It seems to me that it works...I am not sure how people think that this is clunky. It makes sense to me

The official write-up they gave was artificial gravity for a spaceship.

Telekinesis (20 STR), Selective (+½) (45 Active Points); OIF Bulky (-1), Only To Pull Objects Straight Down

To The Floor (-1). Total cost: 15 points.

  4. Re: Traveling in your typical modern day sewer: what rolls for illness?

Rex, someone should be reporting them to the EPA... if they truly have a combined waste/run off system, they are breaking MANY MANY laws.

And that smell... doesn't come out... I got a single drop on a shoe... we had to ride with the windows down... washed it, bleached it, tried over 40 different chemicals... it still stank to high heaven... had to throw the show out

  5. Re: compatibility question

Thank you for the input... I wouldn't even have invested in the 6th ed, but I read through some of the changes (in the posted documents) and (unfortunately for my wallet) I agreed with them... I have a LONG running star hero campaign. We moved and are starting new players in it, and half of them are on 6th... so I just wanted to make sure

  6. Re: Do you think this use of Personal Immunity is reasonable?

As a part-time GM I can see it getting abusive. But I would probably let my players use it and have some fun' date=' [/quote']

Yeah... you don't know my friends or players... One of them built a stun gauntlet with a guaranteed hit that does RIDICULOUS... i will repeat it because it bears repeating...RIDICULOUS amounts of stun. We've also figured out how to destroy a planet for one point. So, when my knee-jerk reaction is "nonononono" I run with it

  7. Re: Traveling in your typical modern day sewer: what rolls for illness?

Sewer traveling is not as dangerous as you would suppose. If the pipes are big enough to travel in, then you are working with the run off (the street system). You are dealing with the oil, trash and run off from the city streets... What most people consider the sewer is the the waste treatment pipes... most of these are much to small to travel in, but if they are big enough, these are typically positively pressured, and completely FULL of sewage. The smaller pipes are too small for humans and are gravity fed... Once they reach the pump stations, the pipes get bigger but are pumped at pressure, filling and preventing entrance...

I used to be a waste management employee... The biggest worry you would have is drowning...

  8. Re: How To Build: Mind Wipe

Yeah, the time limit here would not work. With the way time limit is written, it would heal back after the 5 minute time limit was up... HOWEVER... I can see where you are going with it, and I would use a customer modifier for the same amount and define it as "Can only effect the last five minutes of memory" because that does SEVERELY limit the ability you are building.

Second, you are making a mental transform. Your build is headed the right direction, but per 5th edition Pg 238 (I don't know if it changed in 6th) "To Transform a target’s Mind, a character must use a Mental Transform (one with the BOECV Advantage; see below).

"Based On Ego Combat Value: Transforms bought with the BOECV Advantage are referred to as Mental Transforms. Th ey must also take the Power Modifi er Works Against EGO, Not BODY (this may be an Advantage or a Limitation, depending upon which Characteristic is normally higher in the campaign; typically, it’s a +¼ Advantage). They also usually take a Limited Target Limitation (see below).

Other than working against EGO, Mental Transforms work the same as normal Transforms. Characters can use them to perform “Psionic Surgery” (the removal or alteration of memories, Mental Powers, Psychological Limitations, some Enrageds/Berserks, and the like; this may be a Cosmetic, Minor, or Major Transform depending upon the importance and point value of what’s changed or removed)."

Lastly... 1d6 of transform would only work against an ego of 3. Transforms have to achieve twice the target characteristic effected before the transform is complete. So in this instance, I would recommend 7d6 with the standard effect advantage (+0 advantage) to guarantee an effect of 21 before power defense. This would ensure that an average person would succumb 100% of the time. Though, she bested batman once with this power... So you may want more dice and eschew the standard effect rule since page 104 states "If a character applies the Standard Effect Rule to a power, he cannot switch back and forth between the “standard” effect and the rolled eff ect. He can only use it as a Standard Effect."

  9. Re: I want to build an aura perception power

    Nope...

try it. I selected detect. and selected sight group from the drop down and I get "Enhanced Perception (built in); Increased arc of perception (360 degrees)(built in); Sense (built in); range (built in); targeting (built in)" all automatically

That is why I was asking... it confused me... ALOT
