  1. I just read through it again, but I my intepretation is a bit different than yours. It says that you can use your leaping non combat too, but what it doesn't say is if you can use the base STR for this or not (or how many inches you would have to buy to be able to leap non combat). Because really, all players with strength can leap, buying the leaping power just adds to that ammount. So, yes, it would be nice with some official ruling from Mr Long about this.
  2. Of course it means that the older you get the stronger you can become if you train hard (because you got more time practicing it). Besides, in champions you can still buy characteristics above character maxima, except that it costs double, so that is not a problem. The accuracy thing isnt really problematic either to be honest
  3. Is not non combat still x2 for leaping?
  4. I was being ironic. Besides, in the world we play, the elven warriors are sometimes being "strongmen" as you put it. Also we've been playing a while so the EXP's has been piling up, and after all if a guy is 200 years old like my character is, he's had some time to use weights
  5. Ahhh yes, my mistake, i meant HORIZONTALLY of course Anways, the statement still stands, my elf with a mere 18 strength can still jump 16 meters HORIZONTALLY
  6. I was thinking the other day, whats with the leaping? since characters can jump 1" for every 5 STR. This means that any common man reasonably fit with strength 10 or so can jump 8 meters vertically! (world record is 8.90 AFAIR?). And my high elf swordmaster with strength 18 can jump 16 meters!! How reasonable is this?
  7. Is the OIHID even worth any points to Colossus anyways? I havent really read much comics worth mentioning about the big guy in years, but AFAIK he wasn't human form a whole lot. I probably wouldnt giving any points to someone that goes human form that little.
  8. Some thoughts on this please Im starting up a new campaign, based in the chicago area with a small (3 players or so), but tight group of 350pts players. The world it self is at modern time (after 9/11). The outlook of the world is rather dark, kind of gothic world. Filled with corrupt politicians where the scandals follow each other for the media to revel in and make money from. The crimes seem more savage than earlier. The police and various other "governmented" organizations gets less and less contributions. This makes the population put trust in superheroes and other "superheroic organizations" (such as until and primus for example). The reason for this change is the rather familiar phrase "nothing is what it actually seems". Huge companies, mega cooperations and powerful villains control much more than the heroes might think. Now on to the actual CAMPAIGN As it is now, some of the "villains" are in my campaign are not actually EVIL in the sense that their minds is nothing but a dim, dark cloud of evilness . They rather have their own goals which does not always interfere with justice, allthough that usually seems to be the case . Our dimension and its closest neighbours are connected through a series of items and portals. Various dark forces on earth, including ememies like demon, the crowns of crim and others (you get the idea) are of course after these items in their constant quest for power. The players will by accident (or purpose) gets transported between these dimensions/worlds as they seek to find the source of this end the rather dark age of their own world. Im thinking and shaping this campaign still, and have a few ideas of what kind of dimenions Im including in the campaign. However I want to run this by you guys first to see if any of you have done/played similar things in your campaigns. And therefore if you have any suggestions of what to think about gladly take all ideas under consideration
  9. (using the deep and exciting voice they use for movietrailers): in times of trouble when damsels are in distress, a man came forth, to save the world, or at to stay sober! http://www.iogt.se/iogt_spel/ Arrowkeys to steer, and spacebar to jump
  10. Well it seems that its not the file, its my acrobat reader. You got a screenshot of the pdf maybe? That way it would be so much easier.
  11. I've tried the mechanons robots PDF file but it doesnt work. Im not sure if its my acrobat reader that is borked. Either way, i was wondering what the writeups are for these? Its freestuff so nothing to worry about concerning rights etc. Would be bitch to find my acrobat CD again just to see free stuff one of you kind souls could post here anyways. thanks
  12. Combat is only really slow if you make it slow. Im a pretty fast GM in combat, the trick it to make the players FEEL like its fast. Not the easiest thing with alot of participants, i know, but its all about multitasking

    Stopping time

How do you create a power that stops time?
  19. According to the FRED, you cannot EAT through a force field (check under always on). So my question was "where do you draw the line for what you CAN or CANT do?"
  20. To clarify a little bit. The character is a ghost-like character. He has FULL life support, with and would like force field with always on. He doesnt need money, sleep, food or air. He doesnt need pocketmoney or clothes. Another thing I've been wondered with force field is this: A character with forcefield cant EAT through it, does this mean he's not standing on the ground but actually the force field? Does this mean he cant BREATHE through it, or that he cant grab stuff? Also, stuff from INSDE the forcefield be dropped through it? (ie if i dropped my keys, or tried to spit on the ground, would it stay on the field? How do you define what cant go through and what can?
  21. Then what about if the character has invisible at 0 end?
  22. Re: Sure, why not Well the problem is that its cheaper than armor. Costs no end = +½ advantage, persistent = +½ pts , and he has the always on limitation for -½. Add to this he's putting it into an elemental control inside a foci and you got the worlds cheapest armor
  23. Would you allow a character to have a force field with always on? Now..in the book it says "its not worth any points", this would mean that its a (-0) limtation. Thing is that the character in the campaign that would like to have this has FULL LIFE SUPPORT. So he's not really affected by any common problems with force field. Would you allow a character to have this limitation (now its kind of an advantage too imo, for 0 points because he's not LIMITED by it, now he doesnt even have to turn it on now. How would you guys treat this combination in a campaign, or do you even allow it at all? Im leaning strongly to not allow this combination (force field with always on and full life support), but it would be nice to hear some oppions from someone else as well.
  24. A character has an Elemental Control with a linked slot in it. And as the FRED rules book states, two powers that are linked must be in the same slot. Ok, lets say a character has an Energy Blast and a flash (where the EB is the "larger" power and flash the "smaller" one, so flash gets the linked limitation). Lets say the character got the charges limitation (8 charges each or whatever) with both those powers. If the EB runs out of charges, can he still use the smaller power (which in this case is the flash)?
  25. Okay, having talked to him some more about this, telling him to clarify it a little better, so he changed his mind a little bit about it. The current idea he has is that he DOES want powers bound to the object. Like some kind of a Sauron concept. If you remember that, when sauron loses the ring, he loses most of his power, and basically becomes just a spirit. But when the ring was destroyed sauron died too. So sorry for the confusion guys(i kicked his ass already for not clarifying it better ). So doing this would basically be just buying most (if not all?) powers through the item, and giving him a susceptibility disad, that says "if amulet (he decided it should be some kind of an amulet) is lost, 2d6 (or so?) each phase until object is recovered.
