  1. Re: House Rule Question: STUN From Impotent KA's

    Good point.

*scratches head, looks at drawing board*

I think the focus of the original rule (no body=half-stun) was geared towards our stun rolls vs. VIP NPCs. Basically, the GM doesn't want to see the master-villain with 30/30 defenses, getting clocked by a lucky roll that does

    120 stun.

I think the fact that the rule benefits you and SunStrike was an unintentional

    side-effect.

  2. Re: House Rule Question: STUN From Impotent KA's

True' date=' but remember, the house rule we're thinking of adopting only applies to KA's with the "real weapon" limitation.[/quote']

I'm not so sure Mark and James are on board with that.

If they are, it effectively means nothing has changed from the PCs perspectives (the only PCs who use KA's are the ones run by myself and James and neither of us uses a "real weapon").

Let's be honest, in our game, this rule is only going to affect small arms fire anyway and how often do we run into that ?

Basically, we're implementing a house rule for something that never happens.

  3. Re: How should a Super-Power Suppression Field affect characteristics?

    Hi all,

Say Flash in your game has a 35 DEX and Batman has a 30. They end up in a trap that suppresses all Super-Powers. Batman is obviously unaffected.

Tough call, but I'd also rule that Batman is unaffected.

Personally I'm not a fan of the "super-power drain trap". I know it happens in the comics, but it'll just annoy players and wide-scale adjustment powers just overly complicate the game anyways.

  4. Re: House Rule Question: STUN From Impotent KA's

I should mention that I'm in this game.

The players in favor of the house rule are OK with really high stun totals (stun lotto), but only if the attack actually does body.

My counter-proposal was a flat X3 stun mult, which would reduce chances of the stun lotto, but some of the players don't feel that the rule is balanced and/or accurately reflect how some super-heroes are seemingly immune to small and heavy weapons fire (ie: taking little or no stun) that doesn't appear to "do body".

Personally, I think that's more of a reflection of really high defenses, Con, Damage reduction, etc. I don't think a house rule is necessary to reflect this.

I like Lord Liaden's house rule, which when you think about it, is kind of a reverse-version of the Reduced Penetration limit.

  5. Re: I am hot!

Out of curiosity' date=' as someone who was friends with Kara/Rachel for years before learning the truth, which message board? [/quote']

    *hugz*

Technically, you've been friends with Fred Bittick.

    *tee-hee*

    *blush*

  6. Re: Campaign Styles

In our game we've done this largely to handle in-between game investigation and role-playing. Also for adventure prologues and setting up the plot hook.

Saves a lot of time by allowing you to take care of the more mundane details OOG that normally eat up actual game time.

  7. Re: A Mentalist who takes it for the team part 2

A multipower, 45 points, defined electronic warfare. The slots are basically riffs on mental illusions: 9d6 mental illusions; 9d6 telepathy (eavesdropping); missile deflection, usable on others (interfering with targeting); I would like to include some drains but the bang-for-the-buck with the kinds of points that I have are pretty limited. Also, could anyone suggest a good limitation for the base of the multipower -- I need to save some points. I was thinking a requires skill roll, tactics, maybe even subject to a skill contest. That seems awfully limiting

    though.

This all seems ok , albeit a little underpowered for most games.

The buffs are handled in an elemental control. The EC is linked to a mind link so only the characters mind linked to the mentalist can use the buffs. The E.C. is meant to simulate a battle network. They are: +1 speed +5 lightening reflexes, usable by 4 others (hereinafter UB0); +3 dcv UBO; & 360 degree sensing, UBO. I was thinking about a mind scan as well. I am buying all the slots with a costs end limitation.

I like the idea, but a lot of GMs might have reservations about how the extra SPD and DCV might affect game-balance. But this guy sounds like an NPC so, it's not as much of a concern .

Also, the Lightning Reflexes and Speed buffs means that the Speed Chart will be MUCH more complicated than usual.

Oh' date=' and why can't I link powers to powers inside an elental control?[/quote'] Game balance would be my guess.
  8. Re: character design help, please (long)

that is a good idea -- I wrote a clone of green latern but did it this way:

1.) Go with the end reserve, like 500 end, with no recovery.

Then buy a focus that gives you something like 12d6 aid to end reserve and put one charge on that (you will have to pay extra though so the fade rate is longer).

Combine that with the end only to activate and that seems to best simulate what you describe

to me, but what do i know

    nothing, that's what.

    I agree with Assface.

    Hi Assface !!!

  9. Re: CBikle Stop writing me

I have been reluctant to post about this since I am kind of new to the boards also. I understand some of you have been mislead in the past but don’t you think it’s time to get over it. Really are some of you going to judge every new person who posts here by something that someone did in the past. Maybe it’s time to be grown up about this and let the matter rest.

That's not an unreasonable suggestion and I think this thread is dying down (although part of me thinks it would be hilarious if it went 20+pages).

Technically, I have a right to be annoyed about someone starting a thread with the intent of making me look like a cyber-stalker, but really I just find the whole thing funny (and maybe a little sad).

I think every time the thread is on the verge of dying off, it gets re-energized

by someone taking it too seriously.

  10. Re: CBikle Stop writing me

For those that are interested, here's the transcripts:

The Subject header of the PM was "Sorry If You Were Offended"

    CBikle Jun 20th:

Awhile back there was a (male) poster who pretended to be, not one, but two hot lesbians.

His speech pattern was/is almost identical to yours...

I'm still skeptical, but in any case, it wasn't my intent to hurt your feelings or otherwise chase you off the boards.

Welcome to the Hero Boards and have fun.

    Siren Jun 30th:

No thank you. This is not the type of board or people I am used to being with. I truely doubt I will be back in any way. If you read it, my Post was for a Hot Superhero, not me. I even said I would meet Ghost-Angel at a con.

This board of full of negative energy and something I do not with to be part of. BTW I saw your lame appology in topic. Please do not write me again.

CBikle July, 6: Well, whatever, I tried.

That was the extent of our "correspondence".

Not exactly the Jefferson papers, but hardly cyber-stalking either.
