These are obviously well thought out to be used in a modular way. I like that type of format. It is great for ad hoc areas/battles. Major kudos.

Dude that sucks! I suppose that is a dangerous combination though, artist and athlete. Especially an athlete that chases really hard wooden balls. Don't they wear some sort of protective gauntlet in Lacrosse? Sorry to hear about that.Originally posted by Killer ShrikeThen I shattered my right wrist playing Lacrosse -- last game of my senior year no less. 2 expensive surgeries and a year later I was able to get back most of the useage of my wrist, but there was some nerve damage, strength loss, and loss of fine motor skills. I cant feel too well with that hand, tend to drop things bcs I cant tell how much pressure Im applying by feel alone, etc.

sheesh! Even your wireframes are better than my best drawing. Now that's sad.

Re: Re: Re: Looking forward to you spending my money
Please do. I would really like to know about the character stats as well. Do you prefer the brief format or the larger versions, and what characters interest you and which don't.Originally posted by TheQuestionManI'll read it thourghly again and give you a better and more detailed comment . IMO .
Gold Rush Games is creating conversions for all three products, and is currently only converting SA to Hero, however there may be some conversion guidelines released that would allow anyone to convert however they wish in the future.Originally posted by TheQuestionMan P.S. : has anyone ever produced a Usagi Yojimbo conversion to HERO / Action System / or M&M ???Are you asking to be able to convert in all directions or from one specifically to another, ie A!S to Hero?

Just out of curiosity how many folks would be interested in HeroDesigner Character packs for the SA books?
I'm not making any promises of any kind, I'm just wondering.

Re: Looking forward to you spending my money
It matches the quality of SA. The only missing from the last draft that I played with was a map of China Town.Originally posted by TheQuestionManIf The Dragon's Gate: San Angelo's Chinatown matches the quality of San Angelo : City of Heroes then by all means I'll buy a copy . If it only matches the quality of Denizens of San Angelo . Then leave it as a pdf. on the cheap .
I thrilled that the San Angelo setting is coming back and look forward to aquiring you hard work .
Too cool for words E.

Re: Re: San Angelo Fan
Cool! I got a plug! Thanks Mark for that vote of confidence!Originally posted by Gold Rush GamesYou'll be happy to know that our from Hero Games requires pre-publication approval of the book and that the character write-ups (for 5th Ed.) were accomplished by Robert Miller using the latest version of Hero Designer. Everything should be "good to go," as we used to say in the military.
-
Re: San Angelo Fan
That shouldn't be the case this time around. HeroDesigner was used to create all the characters, and thus everything should be correct. Enjoy!Originally posted by KenetonI was a big fan of the San Angelo series. I only hope that the FRED conversion will be satisfactory. The first San Angelo product was full of math errors on the chracacter sheets. Please promise a well edited product.
The background material was always top notch and set the standard for future products. I look forward to seeing it in stores.

Re: Killer Shrike
1) Make a post, and attach the pictureOriginally posted by Gwena KittenBy the way, how do you post images directly to the thread as opposed to putting a link to another page with the image?
Thanks for the help,
Gwena Kitten
2) Click on the link to the picture
3) Copy the URL from the new window that opens with the picture.
4) Edit your post by typing in <img src=" than paste the URL from step 3, and then type ">
5) Submit the edit.
There you have it.

Does this have to be artwork, or can we include doctored photos and whatnot?

Re: Re: Re: Shintai
THANKS!Originally posted by WildcatThanx for the complement Durnin. As for the character. I have it posted at my site, and I'd gladly give you a hdc file, but she's not my char, so Krissy would have to give the OK for that, and since we game tonight I'll ask her.
WC
PS: She's in Avantguard... look there.
That's an incredibly cool site BTW. What are you using for the animations and such? I like the whole computer interface feel to it. Very well put together.
-
And the HDC file?
I like the character concept. He's a perfect nonchalant character to really bother PCs.
-
Really?? Unfortunately, I am not at my HD computer to test this, but couldn't you just include the anchor tag in the export template? Something like:Originally posted by Killer ShrikeWell, I did on my version; I didnt put it into the public one because it requires discipline/understanding to use it correctly.
Spaces and illeagal characters will barf the tag, and I dont have anyway of modifying the export features of HD to strip them out. If HD had a Replace or URLEncode handle I could take care of it in the Template......but AFAIK it doesnt....
So, basically, I decided it was safer to not include it to protect the end users from themselves
<a name="<CHARACTER_NAME>">
I'll have to give it a shot tonight, and see if I can make it make more sense.

Re: Shintai
All I can say is SWEET!!! You wouldn't have a writeup of this character do you? In HeroDesigner perhaps? Please?Originally posted by WildcatGood Day all,
I have drawn another character for my curent game. Shintai is the Daughter of a Yakuza lord, but raise in LA to avoid the the assassins of rival Yakuza. Raised by her Uncle (A very honerable man) She had now become a superhero, and joined Avanguard.

Hey KS, good idea! How about this one: Add the anchor tag automatically into the export template. Then no one has to remember.Originally posted by Killer Shrike By the way, when you post your character, at the very top of the post type this:<a name="NameOfCharacterWithNoSpacesOrPunctuation"><\a>This will embed an anchor tag in the post and I can put a link directly to the character in the roster line up. Thanx! For example, because I put a tag at the beggining of Gauntlet's post like this:<a name="Gauntlet"><\a>this link will go directly to him:Gauntlet

Re: Sounds like an Origin to Me
LS: Extreme Cold, Matter surfing/skating ice and snow, ice puck energy blast (he makes the puck and smacks it with his ice hockey stick. He can sculpt non-mechanical objects out of ice (disappearing/reappearing equipment) as he needs it. Extra PD for all the damage taken on the rink, extra ED vs. Cold(/Fire?)Originally posted by McCoyAnyone have a suggestion of what sklls and powers could be made from hockey, snowboarding, disappearing/reappearing equiptment, and 14 years in a glacier?
MA: Hockey:
Body Check, Stick Slap, punches, trip, breakfall, ma grab, shove, move-through, move-by, WE: Hockey Stick, +2 HTH Damage.
How does that sound?

Thanks! I have gotten many compliments on it.Originally posted by WilyQuixoteROTFLMAO! Theres a little nugget of wisdom I can't wait to use someday.
To answer your question though I dont know. You'll have to wait for Shrike to post on this to find out. Just out of curiosity though which ones in particular are you thinking of using?
I'm thinking of using all of them. I'll probably modify them a bit to fit my campaign, but I'm sure they will make great NPCs. Thanks for the files!

Re: Challenge Answered
Well done!
Could we have the HDC file? I think HG Wells may be able to give us our next character...
-
So will we be seeing the hdc files for these? They are well done, and I think I can put them to use.

Make sure that you are using the code as I indicated above with the < and > symbols. Don't use the {IMG} button on the Post screen.Originally posted by MisterDUnder Forum Rules it tells me that {IMG} code is off

Couple things here.
Don't try to link to free sites. Tripod, geocities, et el all have restrictions to prevent linking to them so that their bandwidth doesn't get abused.
Don't try to upload an image from a website. You need the actual files if you are going to attach it.
If you don't have the actual image on your computer, go to it on the web, right click on it and choose Save As. Put it on your computer. Then do the attachment again pointing to your local drive. That should work better for you.

You can actually do it from within the board...Originally posted by WildcatChris is right. Ot if you want the pic to be visable you need to have a place on the web pt store the pic, and simply put in a html tag to the pic Like so
"img src="http://www.website.com/images/your_image.jpg" alt="my pic"

1) Make a post, and attach the picture
2) Click on the link to the picture
3) Copy the URL from the new window that opens with the picture.
4) Edit your post by typing in <img src=" than paste the URL from step 3, and then type ">

The easiest way is to click the attachment button at the bottom of a new post.Originally posted by MisterDHow do I post an image to the boards?
I have a few (very few) characters I actually created images for and would liek to share them.
So far all my trys were un successful.
HELP PLEASE.
If you want to have the picture actually display that is a bit more involved. Which would you like to do?
