  1. I like the idea of your Luck Dice being a pool for rolls & what not. The rules were always kind of vague on how it effects game play. I know it was meant to be more of a GM tool, but with Killer Shrikes method it seems a bit more active.

Making a normal attack go against resistant shouldn't be more the +1/2.  Reasoning: To make non-resistant defense resistant is only +1/2.

OK, I went through HD 5th. this is what it came up with. I'll adjust it. Good looking out.

Is literally made out of straw, or can turn himself into a "straw man." Essentially a Metamorph archetype: can bend, twist, or fold himself into various shapes and sizes; can extrude straw to stretch himself. Very hard to hurt -- nothing solid to break from a blow, and penetrating weapons just pass through. Vulnerable to fire, though.

Maybe take Intangibility, take the cannot pass through solid objects Lim. Squeeze in & around objects? Maybe it could simulate loose stuffing when hit?

You could make it a mind control cumulative telepathic set effect "Sleep" going against PD instead of mental defense and vs. Con.

    Something like :

22pts Mind Control 10d6, Alternate Combat Value (uses OCV against DCV; +0), Telepathic (+1/4), Cumulative (+1/2) (87 Active Points); Based on CON (Defense: PD; -1), OAF (-1), Set Effect (-1/2), 12 Charges (-1/4), Can Be Deflected (-1/4)

Hrrmmm, might use something like it for Until agents ...

That is a route I did not think of...Interesting

I would go with something like a 10d6 Blast versus PD, Reduced Penetration x2 (-1/2). On an average roll this will cause 2 Body to a normal with no armor (it is still a bullet, albeit a low velocity one) and knock them out (35 Stun). I am not able to find the rules for Reduced Penetration x2 anymore, I think it was in one of the old monthly publications like Adventurers Club.

Hmmmm. Might be in Dark Champs maybe? 4th or 5th? I remember those rule vaguely. Sounds like a DC thing....

  6. Hiya gang. I'm looking for some input. I'm wanting to recreate the ICER gun from AoS for 5th. So its a Dendrotoxin based attack. I was thinking of a NND or possibly a Drain. the Wiki says its not very effective on Supers, I just assume its because of high rD's or immunities to toxins.

Personally, I have fast villains which drain REC on each hit.  Not a lot, but about 2d6 Drain's worth.  After about a turn of being punched, the PC is down about ((7x6)/2) 21 Rec which begins to wear on the PC.

That's what I was thinking of. Nothing huge, 2 or 3d6 at most.

  8. Now I thought straight out just an end drain with the sfx 'exhaustion punch'. Then i wanted to be able to do some dmg so link it with an HA. Punch. So evertime he punches the target is drained of some end and stun. He basically he has the comic book style. Since this is fantasy look at a fantasy fight. Apollo fights Ivan every time Ivan would hit Apollo, not only did it hurt him it seemed like it would tire him out. I could see how this could be abused with advantages. AP, or Auto Fire. I'm fairly straight forward on this. He hits you, you know it and you dont want to be hit again. At one point i thought a damage shield on the punch, but that wasn't quite what I wanted it to do.

  9. Ok, here is a bit of the fluff that was the catalyst for this brain child of mine... So he is male child of Hippolyta. Male children are often given to Hephestus for weapons & armor. Sensing that he had the spark of a hero. Hephestus raised him in the forge to harden him. So in time his blows would would fall on his enemies like a hammer on an anvil.

  10. Yikes, I was unaware this was a Debate from before. I was honestly thinking this was an easy one for the Council of Champions. Again gang thank you for this. I was just unsure how to proceed with it.

Well, I was never fond of Linked simply because if you get to use two powers at once, then I feel you should pay for two powers, both in terms of Character Points and in terms of Endurance. There are plenty of other mechanisms to help save points based on tight concepts and SFX (i.e., frameworks). Linked always struck me as unnecessary. As far as I can tell it didn't solve a nagging problem from editions 1-3, so I don't really know why they added it to the 4e rules in the first place.

Having said that, if the goal is to use the 4e RAW then, yes, Linked is the accepted way to go.

When you use Linked aren't you still paying for the Powers.  I'm not trying to min max I was trying to achieve an ability. Now as far as 4e rules it was the rule set we used back in the day and we enjoy them. Yes there is 5th & 6th, but honestly to us it ain't broke....lol

I wasn't thinking of punch as manoeuvre, the OP had mentioned a Hand Attack.  I would either link those together, or limit the drain with (only when punching/kicking).

I might even go further and indicate that it was only when punching and kicking at full force...

    Doc

Thanx everyone for the insight.  The effect is to wear them out. So I figured the HA. I didn't think you could link it to a manuever .

I don't want it to effect people that I carry or shake hands with. I don't want a Rogue effect. So if I wanted to go this route just take drain with a limitation them?

  13. I'm sure it's been done.  I'm  thinking of a main power for my new character.  So going under Champs 4th. I'm looking to create  an 'Exhaustion' punch.

I'm thinking 2 or 3 d6 drain vs End linked with HA (punch) Always on, or maybe link it with Strong. I'm trying to simulate that he hits so hard that it wears the target out as well as down....

  14. Hullo gang been a bit. My group is getting ready to relaunch our old game & we are trying to find some of the old resource sheets from 3rd. Mainly the Character Bio Sheet. I've scoured the nooks & crannies of the Web and no luck. I was hoping maybe someone had copies here. I appreciate any help.

  15. So going by those sheets your looking at a paragon vs a classic brick, if you go by numbers it's Diana, factor in dice rolls , environment, and what not, it still leans towards our Amazon, but I wouldn't count Jen out. Maybe Shulky gets the lasso from Diana and uses it on her. (assuming that still works?)

  16.

Character has super strength and a sword and wants to cut lets say a tree down. I'm being told by my GM you have to be transform to do that.

I don't understand why his/ your GM would have him/ you, Have, Need, Buy, pray to Cthulhu, Sacrifice your favorite D20, to use Transform in that situation for.
