  1. Thanks. I found info under the HTH weapon power in the book. It has autofire, so not sure hwo it would affect that.
  2. Is it possible to stack a HTH attack with a super power and martial maneuver. For example, a person kicks for 5d6 damage, plus has a super power that is an HA +6d6 plus has martial training with a martial strike in unarmed combat. The super power is simply a chi effect to the kick. Would this stack or would the chi effect be considered a 'weapon' even though its an unarmed strike?
  3. What good is a long range teleport if your required to have LOS to your destination? Are there ways around it? I wonder about the use of stargates or gates and such, and especially people like Nigthcrawler who could travel miles without necessarily seeing his destination.
  4. I was using some pre-generated stuff from champions 6e book, specifically the super-tough body It says resistant for 25 PD and ED and the cost is listed as 25. When I enter this into hero designer, it says active point cost. Is this simply the amount of PD or ED you want to make resistant or the active cost amount of the defense. i.e. 2 cps = 1 PD or ED. So would I not have to spend say 50 Cps to make 25 PD resistant? It sounds like this is for hero designer, but I am wondering overall if I am misunderstanding how to work naked advantage.
  5. I have a player designing a transformation power described as target into slag. We are trying to determine the effects on a living being. He brings up things like turning someone into air and then using wind to scatter them across the city and asks are they still considered living beings now that their molecules are all over the place? I am figuring into slag is going to be a severe transform. However, the real question is, what does happen to a person under a transform such as when turned into wind and blown apart or turned into ice and then shattered?

  7. Yeah I understand this. However, I prefer RP first and at least one character usually has a mass of issues, they like tragic characters. Mostly I look at psi powers and see the mass of advantages everyone else has to pay for. In the last battle, or rather our first, they were attacvked by villains of roughly the same CPs. Psi turned one of the more powerful ones on the most powerful one (though they didn't know which was which when they chose to do so), but the psi roel was high enough to turn the villain into an ally and effectively remove him form combat completely. As psi powers are automatically Constant (in effect) they can just keep shutting down the villain group. IT certainly ends comabt faster. However, it also leaves little for the rest o fthe players to do, except sit around and twidle their thumbs.
  8. Hello all, I have a couple questions/idea gatherings. 1). Anyone have a good way of balancing mental powers? They seem pretty overpowered, they get several built in advantages such as NND (mental defense), invisible and so forth by default and cost no more than say an energy blast. Looking for a good way to balance without giving every villain they face mental defense. 2). Is there a good way to balance inverted barrier to not be a 'super entangle'? In this case one-way opaque that englobes a villain so he can't fire out, but has to attack the globe to free himself while the players sut bash on him endlessly while the bubbler just constantly renews the barrier or layers it.
  9. 1). If you have a multipower pool of various bubbles, if you set up a defensive one for protection and then use one to englobe an enemy so he can't attack out. Does the first remain or does it shutdown because its part of an MP? 2). After you create the bubble can the creator simply dismiss it?
  10. Thanks so far for the ideas. The character concept is Bishop like, absorbs energy and can redirect into an energy blast of the same type. Just trying to keep from a sudden outburst of a 20d+ attack. I would also assume that Kinetic energy fully falls under the physical category.
  11. Say you have Absorption with increased effect maximum and you absorb a total of, say 120 BODY, can you use all this on a single power an exceed the active points limits or are you still limited to the active point limit of the campaign? Steve suggested I drop it here to see what others think. We tend to use the suggested AP limits in the rule book. We are using 6e. For more details, the character absorbs energy and converts it into a blast power power to attack.

  13. A player ion my game is creating a shapeshifter. They have Shapeshifting and multiform. This is fine. Both have the unified power disad. Fine. The multiform also is an OIF. The impression the player first gave is that both are natural powers of the character. While both powers are shapeshifting, one is gained from a focus. Would unified still be viable for both?
  14. Hi all, I have a player who wants to take Vuln: Alcohol (2x effect). I have a question that broad in scope I guess. I am wondering does anyone have any ideas how this would work? What are the effects of alcohol? How would it be used against this character? Should this even be permissable? Thanks.
  15. Yeah, my character uses safe blind teleport. As for the use it was strictly non-combat to just to return someone home. As for Nightcrawler note above, it may be true he was unsure if he go that far, knowing if you can go a certain distance is not quite the same as knowing you can go that distance but can't go there because you can't see it. I don't recall Nightcrawler having any extra long distance sensory perceptions, but he could go 2-3 miles, depending on direction.
  16. Reading over teleport and trying to use it in play for long range non-combat teleports, it has come up that you need to perceive your location or you must make a roll to hit the area and are at normal range penalties. What the use of any sort of long range teleport as you are most likely to never be able to hit a target a mile away?
  17. I have a question about something a player brought up. In the 6e book it has guidelines for character points, active points, dice of effect and so on. At the standard level, the effect is listed as 12-14 dice. The question comes from a character with a STR 60 and a hammer that does +5d6. 1). Is the active point limit a total for strength and a HTH attack power? So they can't total over that together? 2). Does the active point limit apply to each separately? Just curious as the 2nd question could lead to a STR 60 and wielding a tank bought as a HTH attack and buy it at 14DC, they would be doing around 26DC at full strength swings.
  18. Sorry took awhile to get back, thanks for the reply. I used some ideas from Hyper for the hammer. The character is my own, not Thor.. per se. She is his daughter.
  19. how would one build the effect of Thor's hammer to not be able to be lifted any but the worthy? Would this even require anything to built or would it be an effect?
  20. I have a question about barriers. IF someone is using one in an offensive manner, such as englobing an enemy in a reverse field so people can still fire in at the enemy but block his attacks out, Is this really only an attack against the area of the enemy (aka DCV 3)? Doe sit go against the enemies DCV? Is there some other sort of save against this? To me it seems overpowered but I might be wrong.
  21. Thanks for the input thus far. I do play with this player in another champions game, and it is practically all about saving points to make the most powerful character possible.
  22. YEah I know, they have dsigned an electrical blast, as well as electromag to simulate TK stuff. They have designed a 'Kinetic Mech' by using electromag to use available metals, which increases physcial defense and does grant density.
  23. I am planning ot run a champions game for a group of friends and trying ot get their characters together to plot out what I might need to wipe the floor with them. Anyway, one is making an electromag character using a VPP as follows: Variable Power Pool (Psionic Pool), 100 base + 85 control cost, (143 Active Points); Limited Power Power loses about a fourth of its effectiveness (Powers derived from electromagnetics; -1/4) What worries me is the limitation, is this even valid for the VPP or could it be listed differently? They have already selected Special Effect Electromagnetics. Thanks.
  24. Is the base multipower pool limited to the guideline active point costs? (i.e. a standard hero could have a Multipower with an 40-80 point reserve). I am not looking at the slot costs, just the pool itself.
