  1. Re: Fictional citys

I created the city of Bay Reve,Org. for my campagin.I placed it in the Port Orford city area. I worked up a big background on Bay Reve;but left room to expand as play progressed. Its a 4 color campaign(mainly modern day) ,but I've got it set for my Golden Age game.

  2. I'm starting a Hudson City Knights style DC game for a Developmentally Disabled gentleman I work with & was showing him how to write up a character & pulled out my 5th ed Revised book & found out it was missing pages 545 to 560.They haddn't fallen out;as the binding is in great shape;the pages weren't put in during binding.Has anyone else found this with their copies? I'd never noticed it before since I've played Hero since '81 & haven't needed the "How to" sections on writing up characters in years. It kind of threw me that I never noticed.:o

  3. Re: 5th Ed. Question: Desolidification(is affected by magic) vs Magical being?

does Bocal wield magic or is magical

also 8d6 mind control is an average of 28 vs a base ego of 10 give you a +10 on average, +20 with a good roll

so if the target does not mind what you are doing with their body and would have done it anyway they would only break out on a 10 or less

on that good roll you can get them to do things they are not violently opposed to doing but will break out on an 11 or less

what you really need is to drain their ego to 0 and have at least 12d6 mind control along with penalty levels vs their break out roll which on average will be a 7 or less roll

The GM says he is magical. We both (GM & I) weren't certain if Ghostwalker could even enter his body.

  4. Re: 5th Ed. Question: Desolidification(is affected by magic) vs Magical being?

I am not familiar with Bocal Mcfarlane but here's a similar question that might help.

In the DCU there is a character called Deadman who is essentially a ghost who can take over the body of a living person.

If there was a DCU based HERO game with someone playing this character should they be able to take over Etrigan the Demon?

My gut reaction would be no.

Bocal is from Arcane Adversaries.(He's a member of the Selvestries Family.)

  6. Re: CU team study: Eurostar

Our Champions campagin we've run since 1981/2 has for the most part set in Marion,Ohio just a bit up the road. We've had many visits from Eurostar over the years. Of course the Champions Marion is quite a bit different than the RL one.One of our players/gms has ran Tony "Iron Man" Stark since the beginning.Plus we've got a lot of "Major" ingame companies plus a military base there.Theres always something;even if its small for them to hit.

  7. Re: Best ways to put together a Dark Champions team?

Our Hudson City Dark Champions game started w/each pc investigating dissaperance of locals on their own.We found out they were being taken by the Saiettas'.As we tried to save people we ran into each other decided after bairly getting out with our lives to join together. Our main group is still together, but we've had several characters leave(because the players can decide on what they want to play) new one come in.

  8. Re: Would you play a game with pre-generated characters?

I have gm'ed games with & played pregens. My current FASA Star Trek game I wrote up the characters & added some background & the Players fleshed out the crew. Some of my long term players at frist grumbled but went along & tryed it.Now they ask me when I'm going to run the next game.(which they didn't with my old Trek game that they wrote their characters up for.)

I also had an ex-girlfriend who came up with a game she called "Storm World",in which we wrote up a 50pt character & she wrote up our powers. As the game went we found out what we were(I was the brick & I became the 1st villian in the game.).I found out my powers when a crook tried to rob the bar I worked at.We had a blast with that game for a couple years until real life intruded.

  9. Re: Single Most Powerful Super Hero EVER!!!

Yah, Batman has some pretty huge respect for both Plastic Man and The Atom (I think those two really scare him).

When he becomes a hot air balloon and floats away, where does the extra energy for the huge volume of hot air come from? When he becomes a rocket and sky-writes something silly in the blue yonder, how does he create and sustain the chemical reaction that shoots the rocket forward? When he transforms into a human sized question mark and hovers around for comic relief, how is he defying gravity???

    Beans,Lots & Lots of beans:eg:

  10. Re: Favorite Marvel 'What If?'

I was always a fan of "What if someone else had been bitten by an irradiated spider", because it basically established that, in any world with a Peter Parker, he eventually became Spider-Man. And that's cool.

I loved that issue(its in with my Champions characters.;) )One of my friends wrote up the Peter Parker Spiderman & played him for a few years before he moved away. When he left I wrote up a Spiderman using the Flash Thompson version of Spiderman.Since I wrote him up in '87 I've only run him a hand full of times.(he started as a 300pt character has only earned around 75pt or so.)That actually the only issue of "What If" I ever bought.

  11. Re: My Players looted the room

I have never had good luck with a "playing the origin" game' date=' whether the one time I tried to GM such, or the nigh-uncountable times one GM I used to PBeM game with tried to run such. Even when the players knew that the "origin event" was coming, it's never been a fun experience.[/quote']

A friend of mine ran a game where we wrote up 50pt characters & she wrote up the powers(a speedster, brick, energy projector, etc.) & our powers came out during the 1st adventure. It was a blast & we all had fun.My character ended up being the 1st villian:eg: in the game, due to the mentalist character kept getting into his brain.Unfortantly RL ended the game & we've never gotten back to it.

  12. Re: Champions Sneak Peek #1: The Cover!

Cryptic was fairly adamant' date=' and rightly so IMO, that their new featured main cover art character not be somebody with hidden facial features. I'm with LL- it's a force field. dw[/quote']

I just hope he doesn't take a hit that knocks a system, like being deep underwater or in space when he needs that life support.
