Sorry I didn't know that mechs did count for combat piloting if I had know that I wouldn't have made a post. I hope that you can forgive me for not having the knowledge about all the details that isn't in the manuals yet

HD is tracking that just fine and discounting 1 point TF for any flying vehicle type...even gives the benefit of the doubt for the various mecha.

The body text was set in 10 pt. Minion Pro Condensed and the headers were set in 24, 18, 14, and 12 pt. Gil Sans Bold Condensed.
Skill and Power headers were set in 12 pt. Minion Pro Bold Condensed.
The index was set in 8 pt. Minion Pro Regular and 14 pt. Gil Sans Bold Condensed.
 
The various core Hero System 6th Edition rule books (e.g. Hero System Bestiary, Hero Basic) use a variety of fonts such as Comic Sans for Character names, Arial (or something very similar) for character write-ups, and Minion Pro for body text, so it's a bit beyond my knowledge base to list every type of font and size for the headings, sideboard information, and sample characters.

Java's versioning has always left a bit to be desired....but at this point, you'd have to actively try to download a version of Java that wouldn't run HD.

So you've followed all of the instructions except for that pesky bit about Java being required to run a Java application?

Call me a bit old fashion. My father told me to support Businesses by buy from them so they stay in business. I have a friend that not have much money and thought it be nice tor them to have Hero Designer. I not so crass to just give them my copy I have., because that not supportive of the game I love. 
 
So how does one buy for another?
