I first started playing Argus in 1983 and he has gone through a lot of revisions and updates with each new edition of the Hero System.

This is the 30 year old Argus (1993 edition) and the one I’m mostly thinking of when I post on the Hero Boards.

His concept is that he can see anything, he believes that the META race is the next step in mankind’s evolution.

He does not believe META’s should rule the earth but should help others understand our differences and help the entire human race to survive.

AT THAT POINT the children and parents will be tramatized, not by the deviant, but by the legal system.

But he did, He had to go out and Hunt the children down and touch them to get thier construct.

This guys, um, hobby is certainly disgusting, and needs to be practiced only in a windowless room, but by all indications no one is being harmed.

In fact, the only way his, um, models would be harmed is if they found out about this, which they certainly would if they had to be interviewed for trial.

The man is a predator who went out of his was to steal these children of their identities. It’s no different then if he stood by and took photos of them in the park. He would need to be gotten rid of.

If you are the Game Master then just say it's SFX and go one with the game.

If you're the player come up with another character.

  6. What Would Your Character Do #40?

I’ve wanted to do one of these for a long time and my players just finished this little scenario so here it goes.

For weeks now beautiful women have been disappearing from around the city. All of them are semi-famous models or actresses. They were all competing to be spoke-persons for this years “Bambi-Doll†(Think Barbie with a different doll each year.) All other Bambi-Doll spoke-persons have gone on to great carriers as Models or Actresses.

The press blamed a recently released super-villain with teleportation powers of abducting the women.

But after a lot of work on your hero’s part the true villain has been caught and stands before you in her secret lair. Also know has her bedroom. For she is a four year old girl who has the ability to turn beautiful women into little 12†plastic Bambi Dolls.

Her room is full of hundreds of these dolls, each and every one of them different.

    What would your Hero do?

  7. Mystic War

I played in a game once that had ten players and four of them had some magical origin, one that wasn’t to tightly wrap.

One night the GM gave all four of the players a Mystic Dream; Three of the players saw these 12 Magical relics being placed around an Archway and hordes of monsters coming through to over run the planet and destroy everyone.

The other player had a dream about the same Archway and twelve relics also, but this time the monsters were under his control and they obeyed him and he used them to conquer the world and became the supreme ruler.

    This started the Mystic Wars.

We ended up flying all over the world battling every Mystic Master, both Good and Evil, because no trusted anyone else. In order to fine the relics and keep anyone else from opening the Archway.

  8. Over Power and Find their weakness

Rouge flies in and lays a wet kiss on Sups, he is now stunned and a Normal.

She’s now Super Rouge and begins to kick Wonder Woman’s Butt.

Havoc uses his power to Super Charge Cyclops who then blows away Green Lantern.

Emma Frost, Marvel Girl and Xavier combine to take down the Manhunter, who is the biggest threat power wise.

Storm, Quicksilver and Polaris take out the Flash.

That leaves, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Gambit, Wolverine, and Shadowcat to deal with Batman.

    Did I leave anyone out.

  9. I've set them up and watched them fall.

I had a player whose character had one skill, Stealth, and he hit everything that moved with his most powerful attack right off the bat.

I talked with him, tired to get him to redo his character. Tried to get him to pull his punches.

Then I had someone capture his girlfriend’s five-year-old boy. (Who was the son of a local mobster) and place him in a death trap. Strapped him to a chair on a scale with an electronic switch to 100lbs of explosives. If so much as an ounce was removed the whole thing went up.

He made the right choice and spent a good hour role playing disarming it and saving the kids life.

Another time they decided to run the program called ElderGod.Exe

    But that’s a different story.

  10. Before you have the police take them down.

    Try this.

The Heroes show up at a bank robbery.

The thugs are leaving the bank and see the "Heroes" arrive. They throw down their weapons and yell, “Please don’t Kill US.â€

Have mothers grab their children and run from them when they see them coming.

Have the police ask them when they get a call from them, “How many ambulances do we need.â€

Have some little kid playing the Heroes hurt some other little kid.

Have a gang start using the Heroes Name and Colors.

  11. Maybe she isn't missing after all.

Ok so the publishing company has been on his case for several adventures. He got upset and took one of their reporters to the other side of the planet and dropped her off in some place like South Africa and she’s now missing.

I smell a setup, she’s most likely sitting in a hotel in Paris waiting for her “Big Chance to get from whatever Group she decides as her captures.â€

Have the guy get into trouble with everyone, because they think she is dead then let him figure out that she is faking the entire thing and turn her in.

Unless you really want him to pay then let there be a pile of bones with her watch still attached. “To My Sister Beth, Love Tyrone.†Instant Hunted.

Seconsly, a roll of 6d6 for Absorption would average 21, so it would be pretty rare for the character to have much less than 20 points of Armor. Given that I'm not sure that the 'Based on Absorption Roll' is really a hinderance in this build ... I personally wouldn't allow this limitation unless the armor were less.

Third, the effects are still staggering. Average of 35 rPD & rED on top of the characters normal PD & ED will yeald normal defenses that are likely over 40 each. A 12d6 blast averages only 42 stun. So with this build you would take 2 stun and the absorption would heal quite a bit. Grond's 24d6 attack above would probably stun & take down the PC since it averages 84 stun, but this construct is still pretty nasty.

In genearl for absorbers with linked defenses IMO balance is best gotten by only having PD or ED if you have high absorption ... or by keeping it low if you have both.

First, Yes it is expensive, but if a player wants to spend a lot of point of defense.

Second the way he's built 21 points of absorption would yeld 14 PD (21 Active points into Armor gives you 14 Points of Armor)

3rd. Average PD/ED then would be 29, and yes a 42 point Attack would still do nothing to to the character. But a 44 point attack would.

It would make for a very tough character who could handle a lot. But one good NND and good by.

As soon as the force field goes down, or if it is already down, the character is toast.

I would allow the my build up before I would allow the other.

  13. Try this

I'm not going to do all the math, my book is not handy) but give this a try

    15 Pd/Ed Force Field. (30 pts)

6d6 Absorption PD 1/2 Stun 1/2 Str (30 points) Linked to FF

6d6 Absorption ED 1/2 Stun 1/2 Str (30 Points) Linked to FF

20 PD Armor (30 points) Linked to FF, based on Absorption Roll

20 ED Armor (30 Points) Linked to FF, Based on Absorption Roll

Add your Damage Reduction and your set.

An NPC who has the ability to change the radioactive spectrum of all things. He is just a kid at the moment that can make radioactive material. Evil aliens who are mind controlling him are holding him captive and using him to create fuel for their ships.

  15. A character that can change the Radioactive levels of things.

Or change Radiation Types like Alpha to Gamma.

I've come up with this Transform power because I want it to be more or less last forever.

    Change Radioactivity

    Transform 1d6: Radiation Level (Minor)

Improved Target Group (More Radioactive or Less Radioactive) +1/4

Heal by Half Life or Decontamination.

    12 Active Points

I'm also going to add a Change Environment

    I'm open to suggestions.
