3) use a MP for the common powers, ie Flight, EB, FF, etc and use a small VPP for the misc power usages. Personally this is the approach I think that works well, you get the normal everday things GL is doing at normal costs and then only have to pony up points for a small VPP that allows for other creative uses.
This would work best. I think about 95% of the powers GL does in the comic are:
1. Telekinesis: Big Giant Hand, Various carridges to fly around other people.
2. Force Wall: Big green bubble, glowing green walls.
3. Energy Blast and/or RKA: Various weapons as need.
4. Entangle: Green cages, etc...
5. Flight
6. Force Field w/ linked life support.
and a small VPP for everything else. The GL in the Justice League cartoon is less creative, and I would not even give him a VPP (my one big disappointment with the cartoon).
One thing, has GL ever done telepathy or other psionic powers with his ring, and any incarnation?

Originally posted by Greatwyrm3. The OGL not only gives you the right to make new OGC, but requires anything you make to be open content as well. This is where it starts getting really sticky for you. By throwing HERO rules into an OGC document, you are likely opening them as open game content, for anyone to re-use. Of course, you wouldn't be opening up much, but I doubt Mr. Long would appreciate you creating a headache on this scale for his company.
I have put a copy of the Hero Games on-line policy on the site and noted that Hero Games material is not OGL.
As far as I understand the material in the SRD are open to be publish on the web as long as you do not try to make money off it.
No wonder Steve is a lawyer, you have to be one to inderstand half this ^@&@#^%#@*

1. Maybe a chapter on adding Fantasy elements to other genres. I would really like to see fantasy modern (non-super) and Fantasy elements in Star Hero.
2. Conversion rules for Power cost to money for Magic items.
3. Naval Combat, mounted combat, unless those are in TUV .
4. Hardback . ok I'm the only person whose Fantasy Hero did not last very well though the years. I would like to have Fantasy Hero bound in the same dryer proff way FREd was.
Also, I think having the Grimoire come out as soon as possible after Fantasy Hero would help sales of both books, especially if both were out by GenCon. You may want to consider switching VIPER and the Grimoire on the schedule (ducks to avoid Steve and Darren wraith ).

1. Energy Construct Power: I.E. Green Latern, Jade, Doctor Spectrum, Starman. Are these powers a giant VPPs or more.
2. A really good example of a element transmuter power I.E. Firestorm, Element Lad.
3. Some good Time Power Examples.
4. Some good examples of the Power Skill and Power Tricks. "Torch, can you spot weld the machine for me?" Fuzing sand to glass. etc... I would love to see a large section on this. Would help beginners flesh out their characters.

You may want to check with whoever is in charge of licensing with HERO Games. By converting all of that to HERO, you may end up with someone trying to claim all of the HERO rules as OGC.
Your probably right.

I really want to convert Forgotten Realms to Hero, but decided to take advantage of the Open Gaming License.
WoTC has been VERY protective of the copyrighted material that is not in the SRD (ask the PCGEN folks:) ).

I have started a project to convert the entire d20 System Reference Document and d20 Modern System Reference Document to Hero System 5th Edition.
Why?
I like pulling the wings off of flies and feeding catnip to puppies . The truth is I thought it may be a good way introduce new gamers to the Hero System with terms and concepts they are familar with. Also in the early 90s T$R threaten to sue me ober some AD&D spells I posted to gopher/web. I can't resist doing a full conversion of the d20 System since it is now legal (as far as I tell) .
You can find the project at
http://www.dbasinge.net/rpg/oglhero
There is nothing there now other than Links and a the Open Game License. I hope to have some conversions posted ASAP.
Let me know what you think, also let me know if there is a No conversions clause in the d20 System Reference Document.
Thanks,
Mike

I have the Protectors 5th ed. conversions that Glenn Sprigg did on the old boards. Ogier300 was nice enough to send me his .hdc files. I converted the files to pdfs with the graphic as a watermark.
You can find them at
