  2. New Character: Lady Liberty Background

     

    Background: Laura Lockhart was a world famous aviator who during an around the world solo flight discovered a secret Axis base near the Panama Canal. An unmarked fighter from that base attempted to shoot down her unarmed plane, and during the pursuit both planes flew into an interdimentional gateway to the Realm of the Ancients. Deciding to aid the allied cause they gave Laura superhuman strength, and four weopons to battle the Axis.

     

    The Shield of Athena, which gave her invulnerability.

     

    The Torch of Aphrodite, which gave her the abiltity to control minds, and power over light and flame.

     

    The Crown of Hera, which made defended her against evil influence.

     

    and The Sandals of Atalanta which gave her speed and flight.

     

    Laura was given the ability to give these weapons any shape she wished so she chose to use the Statue of Liberty as her role model, and so was born the Statuesque Heroine of Democracy, Lady Liberty!

     

    Her enemies include the Firth Column, an Axis Supervillain/Superagent Group, Countess Claudia von Kruel, a top Axis Spy, and the Leopard, an insane woman archaeologist obsessed with finding the realm of the Ancients.

    Appearance: Lady Liberty is a beautiful and tall woman in her late 20s with red hair and blue eyes. She wears a red, white, and blue gown, with a gold book shaped shield, gold "Statue of Liberty" crown, gold torch, and golden sandals.

    According to the Wonder Woman Encyclopedia mental radio messages could be sent by anyone without using a device, but could only be received with the OAF: Mental Radio. I considered using an activation roll to simulate someone actually receiving the message, but decided to leave that as a special effect and a (-0) advantage/disadvantage.

     

    The Mental Radio was used for Wonder Woman, Steve, or Etta Candy to call for help, for for Wonder Woman and Paradise Island to communicate with each other.

     

    I'll revamp Wonder Woman after Batman, adding more background skills, and better defining the Mental Radio.

    In the original comics, Wonder Woman lost her Amazon strength is a man linked her bracelets together with a chain. It mutanted to her being cuffed by a man.

     

    She would also become enraged if the bracelets were ever removed.

     

    Those disadvantages are in the 350 version.

     

    Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman didn't have those weaknesses, but I included the magic belt as it was on the TV show.

    Explaination about the 250 point version

     

    This is Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman.

     

    Her magic belt was thought up by the writers in order to avoid the whole bondage issue on television, not that she didn't get tied up a lot anyway.

     

    Steve was the only DNPC on both shows, but I threw in Wonder Girl because of her popularity and I'll have a 150 write up for her shortly.

     

    Her Megascale flight is the Invisible Plane, which she can only use in hero ID.

     

    This version is toned down a bit, but I think covers her abilities quite nicely.

    Regarding her Life Support, those came from the more modern Comic Book version.

     

    She and her Mother were stranded on the surface of the Moon by Circe and survived long enough to make it to the Watchtower.

     

    Just covering all bases.

    I'll put up a 250 point version soon, and work on the skills and the lasso. I gave her Armor as a fallback in case she missed her roll, but WW always avoids the KAs anyway. I'll work on that too.

    The RKA in the Tiara multipower is Wonder Woman using the sharp edge of the tiara, the EB STUN Only is her using blunt edge. Both attacks are physical in nature.

     

    The second multipower is her running, swimming, leaping, or flying (with or without her invisible plane) so ultra slots are fine. I am planning to put her Transform: Instant Change in that Multipower and upgrade it to any clothes, giving me 5 points to add to background skills. Reduced her speed to 4 and you have 10 more.

     

    I'll keep working on it. I'll be doing 250 point version as well. I just started a group at yahoo. Not much yet, but working on it.
