Have you ever been playing a game with someone' date=' and they get a rule wrong, and you calmly and politely quote the rules and point out how it actually works, then you get the official FAQ for the game and it agrees with you, and you find a quote from the guy who manages the rules of the game that agrees with you, and the person STILL insists that he's right even though you've shown him Celestia-only-knows how many pieces of official information that show he's wrong?[/quote']

    Yes.

And the cover of When In Rome written by Kate Jackman.

And here is the cover to the upcoming novel "When in Rome"...which from what I've gathered is actually the name of the main character. And it is a sci fi novel, despite most of the trappings being more renaissance.

So. I will try to get art and posts up more frequently now. I never really went away, I've just been very busy.

I have to ask. If Rome is the name of the main character? This sounds like the title of a porn novel.

  3. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

As someone who once had a net mail address that was specified as {seismo' date=' ihnp4, __?__}!ut-sally!ut-astro!jeff, (and I'm sorry I can't remember what the third major hub site was, hence the non-literal "__?__" representing the third of the three major routing stations that seemed to be the common trunk in many of the old "bang path" mail specifications), the commercial sector was limited to [i']one[/i] major player, and that was Bell Labs. All the others were governmental or educational. Claiming the private sector started the internet is on par with claiming the Germans started WW2 by bombing Pearl Harbor.

    "Germans?"

"Forget it. He's on a Roll."

Folks' date=' I have received word that earlier tonight, my grandmother passed away. She is believed to have done so without pain and mother was by her side. The family extends its thanks once again to all those who have sent prayers and support. While details of ceremony and legalities will be settled in the days to come, the important thing is this: She is now at peace and going to once again be with my grandfather.[/quote']

I'm sorry to hear that, Hermit.

The only way I got thru my dad's funeral was to remember he was no longer in a body that had failed him, and was in a better place. And it only partly helps because I still miss him 6 years later.
