    "Don't make me slap you!"
  1. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. OMG! Completely and utterly repped!
  2. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. I love this joke! And I admit that I ripped it off. I was playing City of Heroes, and was a member of a team of players that I didn't know. In the Chat window, one of the team members was lamenting that while she leaned forward in her chair to get a drink, her cat jumped up into the chair behind her, rolled up in a ball, and promptly fell asleep. The player couldn't lean back in her chair. Me: "So you're a cat lover?" She (I assume it's a she): "Yes, I do." Me: "So do I . . . Wanna swap recipes?" The rest of the team posted a bunch of lols, and omgs, and one rofl. Her response?: "VILLAIN!" but she did put an lol after it. Thanks for the great joke, Bolo!
  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Sounds like the 'Plot Train' comin' down the tracks!
  4. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... repped
  5. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. repped.
  6. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. I was at work eating lunch with a friend who also plays Champions. I asked him how to create a vehicle in Champions. He said that he never really tried to make one, but the book (5ERev) should talk me through it. When this exchange happened: Me: 'So what kind of weapons would you put on a hero's car?' Him: 'Oil Slick and Fog Screen coming out of the back of the car.' Me: 'On a hero's car?!!' Him: (After thinking about it for a second) 'Oh, wait . . . " We both a chuckle out of that.
  7. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Thanks! I was afraid that I would have to explain what a 'Lawn Dart' was.
  8. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Reading all of those Star Wars quotes reminded me of a time long, long ago (sorry . . . couldn't help it), I was in a group playing the Star Wars RPG (please don't ask which Edition, I have no idea.) Anyhoo, We each create our character, and it was agreed that one character was to be the pilot, one to be the insufferable Protocol Droid (that was me, btw), one to be the token Jedi, etc. In our first and only adventure, we manage to buy a ship. The ship has not been named. The players bicker and argue for a half hour over what to call the ship. The GM finally says, 'ENOUGH! We'll name the ship later! Let's get on with this, shall we?" So the game continues, and we find out that we need to go to another planet for the 'plot hook'. So our pilot gets in the cockpit, and says, 'Don't worry! We'll be there in no time!" The ship takes off, and the pilot's PC rolls a critical failure for his piloting roll. The GM decides that the ship took off, and crash-landed about 50 feet away nose-first. From that point on, we called the ship, "Lawn Dart". Sorry if no one else is amused by this, but we laughed for over 10 minutes.
  9. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Sorry, bunneh, but the system tells me that I have to spread rep around a bit before I can rep you again. This is an awesome quote!
  10. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Let me first congratulate everybody for the incredible Quotes in this thread as well as the thread itself for hitting page 600! I wish that I could pitch in with a quote or two, but I'm currently not a part of any gaming group, and the quotes from groups of days-gone-by are all in the realm of you-had-to-be-there (sadly).
  11. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. My apologies to all of those whom I tried to rep in this thread, but I must spread it around first. This thread rocks! ---------- A couple of years ago, I was at work. We had a power outage. The manager called the electric company and was told that 'service would be restored within the next 6 hours'. The manager told a bunch of us to go home and we'll try to make our hours up some other day. I decided to go to the grocery store that's about 3 miles away. I call over there first to make sure that they have power. This is the phone exchange: Clerk: 'Thank you for calling [store name]. May I help you?' Me: 'Yes. We're over here on [street] and we have a power outage. Is your power on?' Clerk: 'I don't know, sir. Let me connect you with someone who can answer that question for you.' ---------- I kid you not. That is verbatim what was said.
