  1. Re: OIHID or Why Doesn't Billy Batson not Change Back?

In most cases OHID things are either a Gear, tony can't walk around in the full armor all day it a bit much even for him, or there is a noticable downside. I is/was in a game with a PC codenamed Troll who lost some of his speach and manual dexterity when in troll form. It was great for wrecking things but not so usefull in everyday life, hence he shrunk back down into his normal 6 foot+ nordic self.

  2. Re: Superhero Costume Party

I'm sending this to our GM via email. Raven will have to do this now if only for a wing girl. She'd have to break out her old cheerleader uniform. The keyblade weilder would of course go as lois lane.

Enermatrix' date=' would have to be dragged to the party by a friend; she thinks of herself more of a scientist/hero than the party girl she was in high school. The type of costume wouldn't matter to her.[/quote']
  3. Re: Necessary Item to control your power

Always controled its a listed varaint on always On, it isn't as value intense (less points off) as full always on but seems to provide the flavor your looking for. I'm currently running a char with a "Death Field" (1/2d6 body drain persistant, zero end, area, always controled) it pisses her off that she has to wear somthing that looks kidna like a 4 point seat belt with a composit box with little blinky lights on it or everything around her starts droping.

  4. Re: A bit of clarification needed with sawed-off shotguns

My current martial artist's nastyest power is no range area drain. we've house ruled no attack roll is needed because its basicly an aura get within 8 meters and you start loosing body note its constant and always controled (a weaker form of always on) so if the power limiter gets broken run.

note this power is considered by the char and the team (and their gov sponser) a last resort

  5. Ok I would like to first apologize to whoever's signature inspired this since i can't remember your ID.

But someone has the concept of a duck flavored killing attack. This bring the interesting idea of the fact that all obvious powers (of which killing attacks are one) must be detectable by 3 sense groups.

    So Touch, Smell/Taste, Mental

I turn to the board and cry Quack! let the duck flavored killing attacks begin.

  6. Re: Power Skill...How Do You Use It?

I'm trying out the skill for the first time on a simple idea. The char worked for a wizard (fantasy hero) and learned minor magics and this is what the roll is for.

ie light pipe, lap, fire, etc

    minor color change/brighten

brush teeth, hair, "natural" looking cosmetics

remove gunk from trekking through said gunk

just about anything 2nd edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons cantrip spell could do since i'm fairly sure that with no/minimal combat value spending 3 points for the skill seems fair

  7. Re: Low-End/Less Flashy Superpowers suggestions needed...

for a sf campaign with low level powers i ran up synergy basically aid(mutant/metahuman powers) with the boost effects (add/lim). The idea was simple someone who can supercharge anothers power isn't a big deal in and of themseves but have them work with the right person and whoa nelly.

  8. Re: Magic pistols

Now i've only read the first page of this thread and skimmed the second but this may be the answer (I set this up for a char with similar powers) the multi-power adds an additional die of damage to whatever weapon your wielding and the naked advantage matches the base weapon damage to the added element.

18 Weapon Element: Variable Special Effects (to Match Weapon Buff; +1/4) for up to 60 Active Points of Weapon of Opportunity, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2) (22 Active Points); Linked (Weapon Buff Multi-Power; -1/4)

36 Weapon Buffs: Multipower, 30-point reserve, all slots Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2) (45 Active Points); all slots Incantations (-1/4)

2f 1) Percing Weapon: Naked Advantage: Armor Piercing (x2; +1/2) for up to 45 Active Points (22 Active Points); Incantations (-1/4)

2f 2) Spirit Weapon: Naked Advantage: Attack Versus Alternate Defense (Power Defense; +1/2) for up to 45 Active Points (22 Active Points); Incantations (-1/4)

    1f 3) Flame Blade: Killing Attack - Hand-To-Hand 1d6, Area Of Effect (1m Surface; +1/4), Personal Immunity (+1/4), Constant (+1/2) (30 Active Points); No STR Bonus (-1/2), No Knockback (-1/4), Incantations (-1/4)

    1f 4) Frost Blade: Killing Attack - Hand-To-Hand 1d6, Area Of Effect (1m Surface; +1/4), Personal Immunity (+1/4), Constant (+1/2) (30 Active Points); No STR Bonus (-1/2), No Knockback (-1/4), Incantations (-1/4)

    1f 5) Shock Blade: Killing Attack - Hand-To-Hand 1d6, Area Of Effect (1m Surface; +1/4), Personal Immunity (+1/4), Constant (+1/2) (30 Active Points); No STR Bonus (-1/2), No Knockback (-1/4), Incantations (-1/4)

    1f 6) Flame Shot: Killing Attack - Ranged 1d6, +1 Increased STUN Multiplier (+1/4) (19 Active Points); Linked (???; -1/2), Incantations (-1/4)

    1f 7) Frost Shot: Killing Attack - Ranged 1d6, +1 Increased STUN Multiplier (+1/4) (19 Active Points); Linked (???; -1/2), Incantations (-1/4)

    1f 8) Lightning Shot: Killing Attack - Ranged 1d6, +1 Increased STUN Multiplier (+1/4) (19 Active Points); Linked (???; -1/2), Incantations (-1/4)

    Powers Cost: 64

  9. Re: A little, but not too much Martial Power?

    Throws

they let you physicly put the party where you want them (seperate or bunched)

variable damage (others strength is involved with some of them)

extra short term disable (people have to stand up)

otherwise chain/rope weapons depending on style leave the mages "all tied up for the moment"

  10. Re: Transgendered Superperson

    1) the only champ's char I play would freak a little and then calm down. of course he has the benefit of advice from all the previous people to have the power set so all those different quirks in physiology/psychology would be easyer to deal with. although that just makes getting the girl he likes kinda harder since i don't think she's a les.

    2) sadly my friend Andy doesn't read these boards. I'll send him a link to this. He gets to explain a certain ring/potion/fountain.

  11. Re: Seemingly Silly Things to Model

Blood-Maker: You are the opposite of a vampire. Your body generates extra blood' date=' frequently in alarming quantities, when you are under any sort of emotional stress (pleasant or unpleasant doesn't matter). If it generates more blood than your physiology can handle, it will expel the excess through any convenient opening (the nose is usually easiest for the body to cope with, but there are alternatives, including any open wounds).[/quote']

I've actualy considered giving that as a problem to regenerating characters. Its a reslult of healing tooooo fast. THey are often hunted by vampires or have some sort of friendly relation ship to them. depends does being biten feel good?

  12. Re: IAF for concealed

Now if I'm reading IAF correctly, it is used for hiding a weapon, but when the weapon is used, it can be apparent. I.e. sword in the cane. The cane is OAF whereas the sword blade is IAF, but when you draw it out, the power is obvious. I'm double cdhecking because I'm going to give a character of mine a high-tech shield whereas it is folded up on his gauntlet (hence the IAF) until needed. P.S. I got the inspirarion of this from seeing the Golden Knight do this.

Actually wouldn't it be IIF instead (typically you don't see gauntlets taken off in battle.)

ok IAF in obvious accessible focus is not so much for hidden as wait you need what? ok folded the shield would be iif out it would be oif

iaf is used for things like "I shoot lazers out of my eyes so long as i have my staff" now the fact that you're holding a stick doesn't seem to have anything to do with the lazers but someone might just grab the stick and then oops no more lazers.

  13. Re: Dominos, mountains & small cars

After re-thinking about it and re-reading some rules it seems the key is that the target may or may not be see as a whole.

    1. Multiples "separated" parts: (TUB p105) + full BODY excess = +1 cubic hex

If we use the rule in Ultimate Brick page 105, Earth is a very large "boulder" so this is not a whole but a multitude of cubic hexes, each with for instance DEF 5 and BODY 19. So the AoE+Autofire would only do 1 Body 160 times, never overcoming the DEF so Earth would not be destroyed (but an amazing quantity of 0 DEF creatures would suffer.)

In order to destroy Earth the WorldsEnd power should be increased from 1 pipK to 8D6K. It would cost 820 character points.

That's a lot better than 34 :D (but not very high neither...)

    2. Multiples "linked" parts: (Dominos) Walls (H5R p449), large Vehicles (TUV p188, option), Bases (???)

IMHO, The "wall" rule (+1 excess BODY = X2 hexes) seems to be made for "domino" structures where the destruction of a part bring successive destruction of adjacents parts.

    3. A whole:

The BODY of characters, vehicles and "small" items.

    4. ????? +1 BODY excess = +1 hex : large vehicles ?... again....

This is from Ultimate brick, p 104.

What is the right version for bases ? Version 2, the "domino" ? (H5R p465 "Because a bases's Body spreads out over a large area, a base's walls start with only 2 BODY and their Size does not affect this.") , Version 1 ?

What is the Version 4 supposed to be used for ? Was it a mistake ?

That's quite confusing......i'm lost :help: Are there clear, official and definitive rules somewhere ? (i'd prefer clear rules rather than a "as you like it" no-rule.)

May you please write the correct Version number in front of :

    Vehicles:

    Large Vehicles:

    Bases:

    Items :

    Very large items:

etc.... (what is a very large item ? something whose size is greater than 1 cubic hex ?)

    horrible...:idjit:

Unfortunately you seemed to have missed the fact that this is an NND (not a planet) and so the DEF of the planet isn't taken into account

  14. Re: Ideas for powers for child heroes...

Kid Question- 8 year old with ADD who asks questions faster than I talk while cranked on coffee. Really not sure with this one- maybe Super Intelligence and gadgets?

Baby X- The newborn, 9 days old now- was thinking he would just be a complication for the other kids for the first little while before he develops anything in the way of powers.

Kid Question take the social fu idea and keep going, paralyzing contradictions and other confusing presence attacks that border on mind control. not super smart he doesn't have the answers just the questions. will grow into being a super genius once he gets enough answers

Baby X regen, confusion (he/she dosen't understand the world and sudenly neither does the target), minor invulnerablilty (don't use too often or will grow up with LD's or just plain old issues)

  15. Re: Foxbatmite

What makes a character whose visible manifestation is the size of a muppet stand head and shoulders above, not only everything else I've ever posted, but apparently all the stunning examples of brilliance and creativity on display here at Hero Games? (And do you have any idea how heady it is to feel like I stand out, even for a moment, in company such as this...)

What makes a supporting character (if an absurdly powerful one) whose role in the game universe is totally defined in terms of a relationship to a character that has been described as "the sideshow of the Champions Universe" the focus of so much enthusiasm?

    1) Foxbat is loved everywhere (except shaboigin)

    2) The only problem people have with him is that he's soo goofy the mite is like a shot of serious that fixes the problem

    3) who doesn't like muppets?
