Rob smiles at Tim. "Humm...you looking forward for the annual melodrama Tim? I'm sure you will be a shoo in for the damsel in distress role."

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the annual melodrama," Tim replies in his normal voice. Then, using his regular female voice, he adds, "They might cast me in a supporting role with you in the lead and Doreen as the damsel-in-distress."

  2. At the same time, Sandy Forbes was adjusting a costume for Tim, who would play one of the Pick-a-little Ladies.  "How do you like it?" she asks.

"Feels good," Tim said as he moves in it.

"It works," Sandy says.  "With a wig and the right accessories, the illusion will be perfect."

"Blame it on years of practice performing female roles," Tim laughs.  "Since getting the role, I practiced every night moving in an evening gown and long gloves."

"Reminds me of an old joke," Molly says.  "'How do you get to Carnegie Hall?'"

    "'Practice!'" Tim and Sandy respond.

Robert is in wardrobe getting fitted for his costumes he needs for the musical.

Mrs. Jo Anne Forbes is the wardrobe mistress.  She’s assisted by her daughter, Sandy, who is adjusting a costume, and Ms. Molly O’Connor.  All three are dressed like Stage Crew.

  4. A couple of days later, the school's Mouseketeers are sitting together at lunch.  Two of Sharon's friends from the Stage crew are with them.  One is Donna Gray, an African-American girl who prefers black clothes and wears bracelet-length black gloves, is on the Stage Crew, and suffers from an allergy that causes contact dermatitis.

"Donna finished drawing up the plans for the pieces of the set that we have to construct," Sharon says.  "Mr. Abraham thinks we'll have all the lumber we need by this Saturday, when we start building."

"We already have the free battens marked so that we know what backdrop or flat will be located where," Donna adds.

Rob nods. "So it is that obvious than me and Doreen are in love? Even though the television screen?"

"Don't forget, there's also Backstage with the Mickey Mouse Club," Ms. Addams says.  "It airs on Saturday and Sunday and contains backstage footage, outtakes, rehearsal footage, interviews, and other things.  Of course, you two aren't as obvious as Tim and Cheryl.  They've mentioned that they plan to marry after they both turn 18 and graduate high school."

"Thank you Ms. Addams. We can understudy for Harold and Marian if you wish."

"If you like," Ms. Addams replies.  "Since most of the Mouseketeers that attend this school are in the Drama Club, I'll probably cast Bobby and Annette in those roles.  Don't forget, I watch The Mickey Mouse Club."  She pauses, then continues, "I think Lonnie will do for Constable Locke."

"True. Let's see if anyone else goes for the leading characters before truly deciding. But we shouldn't wait to long."

"Agreed," Doreen said as Tim was going over lines with Christine and Crystal Donaldson, who he had performed in amateur theater with a number of times.

"And let someone else romance you? I didn't spend three months changing into a bumbling blob whenever you were around at dance class to let someone else taist thoes lips of yours."

"I could play Mrs. Shinn if you play the mayor," Doreen says.

  9. "You could always ask for the part of Mayor George Shinn, a pompous politician who is suspicious of Hill, or Charlie Cowell, an anvil salesman who tries to expose Hill as a fraud and con man, or Constable Locke, the town peace officer," Doreen says.

"Well, wonder what role they are offering me?" Rob looks at the script.

"They're offering you Harold Hill," Doreen says.  "I'm being offered Marian.  They want Tim Clark and Christine and Crystal Donaldson to play three of the Pick-a-little Ladies."

  11. 23 minutes ago, steriaca said:

"Ha! Yes, they would take all the good support roles. Which reminds me, did you get the stack of Spin and Marty scripts they want us to go over?"

Lowering the volume of his voice, Rob whispers "and the patrol list Batgirl wrote up...?"

"Yeah," Doreen replies as Darlene Gomez and fraternal twins Christine and Crystal Donaldson enter and get their scripts.

"Honestly I don't think I have the chops to play the con man. I can see you as the librarian. In the film if I remember they slowly change her hairstyle as she starts falling in love with Mr. Hill. Since it is about say between the fist two world wars...I think...maybe even before the first one...the pickford style curls were still popular enough."

Rob sighs. "I'm hoping for one of the male dancers myself. Maybe a barber shop quartet member slash police force member."

Doreen says, "The barbershop quartet members were the school board members.  Constable Locke was the town's police force."  She then adds, "We watched the DVD at home last week."

Rob follows Doreen, as he is a member of the Drama Club also. "So, any clue you got about the new play Do-chan?"

"It's a musical, but not the annual play for charity," Doreen replies.  "That comes after homecoming, not before it."

  14. "I have about 10 minutes of paperwork to do before I can go home," Rosemary tells Rob.

Harmony Kendall, Katherine Wexford, and Donna Gray then join them.  "Stage Crew meeting in Mr. Abraham's classroom, Sharon," Donna says.  "We have a play to prep for.  Harmony and Kate will be joining us."

"I put my foot in my mouth...again," Harmony says.  "Kate's coming with me to keep me from making a fool of myself.

"Got to get my copy of the script," Doreen says as she arrives.  Then, she heads for the classroom the Drama Club meets in.

  15. Owners took photos of the damaged vehicles and called insurance companies.

Police cars arrived along with crews from the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority and area radio and TV station news departments and the local newspapers.  It took a while, but the manhole covers were finally back in place.
