  1. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Well since some people want to see the pencils, here is my latest commission's pencils. I will be coloring this one. This is for Lord Mhoram, and is his "Blackcat". You can see other versions of "Blackcat" in his thread here as well as the character sheet for this character: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47542 So, Lord Mhoram told me to take artistic control over her costume adhering to some very minor things. SO I WENT CRAZY!!!! If you like the pencils let Lord Mhoram know so he doesn't kill me!!!
  2. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Actually is it Batgirl. The DC3 is an alternative universe for DCU characters, and many of them are re-imagined. So their costumes get changed or tweaked, based on what the fan fiction writer wants. They tell the artist what they want and the artist delivers.
  3. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread I dug up an old Cover I did a while back for those DC Comic fans... Your very own Joker Clock! Guess what happens when the alarm goes off?
  4. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread That might be a good one for the Art Community Social Group for everyone to do...
  5. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Thanks Duster. I will be posting another commission drawing this weekend sometime and will be starting it tomorrow night. Do people like seeing the pencils, or should I just post the final drawing once it is colored? I will be sending my customer a pencil proof before coloring it to make sure I didn't miss anything, so it is just as easy to post it here once it is finalized. Not sure if poeple want that or think it is redundant...
  6. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Thanks I appreciate it!
  7. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Gave her a breast reduction, by request. Sorry boys...
  8. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Oh sorry about the "boobage." I actually had them bigger, but gave her a reduction because it didn't seem right to me based on her frame... I guess my male side subconsciously prevented me from going too far! You will have to spend some of your XP into COM and PRE next because of that... I wasn't sure how big to make them, so I made them "average heroic"... Power girl of course is "extreme heroic". I am glad you like it! I don't know if you noticed, but I am showing off her Legion ring on her left hand. You can see it better in the big picture I sent you. You gave me a lot of information to work from, which made it a lot easier for me, and of course improves the result. I tried to incorporate all the stuff you sent me. Let me know if you can't receive the email with the attachment, I can try a different means of sending it to you.
  9. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Well here is one commissioned drawing done... This request was for a pencils only version, no inks or coloring will be done. It was done on a Blue Line Art Pro Comic Board using 2H and B weighted pencils... The female character is Gamma Girl, and if you are wondering who the dude is in the picture, it is Superboy. I tried not to make him too muscular, but at the same time not pudgy. Hopefully it worked.
  10. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Yeah no worries, as long as you give me credit for the drawing.
  11. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Actually Bob, the two guys you sent look pretty interesting. They are high on my freebie list. I draw mostly on the weekends, where I usually produce one or two drawings depending on time. For those who are wondering, here is how I figure out my drawing priority (in order): 1) Commissions (I drop everything for paying customers - right now I got 3 commissions left to do). I spend a lot of time on these, and I don't experiment. I use the techniques I think will work the best, that I've proven to work well. 2) Stuff I want to draw for myself, or stuff I promised others (Sometimes there is a lot here, sometimes nothing. Right now I got 4-6 drawings either I promised others, or I want to draw for myself). The Rainbow's End campaign has priority for me right now, because I am in the campaign, no other reason. There are 2 more characters to draw and 2 NPCs for that campaign, then I am done those. I also draw one cover per month usually for a fan site called DC3. One coming up for Feb... An awesome villain submission, might pop up into this category, if I wanted to draw it soon, cause I was using it in my next session or something like that. Also, I like to try out new techniques in Penciling, Inking, and Coloring so sometimes it looks like crap, sometimes it looks good. This is how I teach myself what works and what doesn't. I tried a different inking technique with Knockout. I used a thicker pen for the details and it didn't turn out as I thought it would. I normally use a much thinner pen when doing interior details. But this is how I learn, and these pictures are done for free, so this is how I improve! Sometimes these experiments return big dividends!!! 3) Cool stuff submitted by others, I would use in my own campaign, or is just plain cool or funny as hell, and I have a good idea in my head about the submission and is begging to go on paper (your stuff falls in here Bob, and it is high on the list). Sometimes I try out really extreme things, like try to do something really cartoony, or use a large inking brush to try and pull off an effect. This is to try and push myself and see if I can cross techniques, etc... 4) I don't have anything to draw... I am out of ideas. Someone give me an idea quick and it will probably get drawn. ANYTHING GOES! Keep in mind most drawings take between 4-8 hours for me depending on backgrounds and how extreme the pose is and such. So this is not like a 1 or 2 hour request, so it is tying up a significant amount of time on my weekends. Because it is my hobby, and I like to draw, I enjoy doing them, but because of the time required to do them, I hope people see why I order the priority of drawings like I do. If it only took me an hour to do a drawing, I could pound out 8-16 of them in a weekend... Oh would I be happy!!! You guys wouldn't be able to keep up with me. heh heh.
  12. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread I haven't really done much sequential art in the last couple of years. I have done some in the past, but the thing that always pulls me away from it is drawing so many mundane things like buildings, and room interiors, etc. I have a love for drawing the figures more than inanimate objects, so whenever I go to the sequential side, it generally doesn't last very long, because I get bored. I think part of the problem might be the genre. I might have more fun drawing a space type comic for instance, cause spaceships, space, and technology is fun, because you have to INVENT the interiors and other stuff and that would make me have to think more. You don't have to think too hard in order to draw a lamp or table, it is just a matter of getting your perspective lines down. But that is why you don't see sequential art from me posted here.
  13. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Thanks for the comments guys! I am currently working on a few commissions, hopefully the one I am working on will be done sometime next weekend. I am done laying out the thumbnail, and I will be starting the real drawing today. Sorry I haven't posted for a while I been busy doing silly things... Here are some... My neighbor asked me to do a Valentine's card based on this picture, done by some pro working for Hannah Barbara. She asked me to insert her kid in there and make her look like she is just part of the gang, and change this picture into a valentine's card, so she can hand them out at school and have something unique. You are thinking, easy stuff right? That is what I thought. Then I started doing it. The picture was small, I had to mimic the picture's inked line weights so it didn't look horribly out of place, and then try and mimic the style of the artist, yet still make it look like my neighbor's kid. I am not used to drawing cartoons!!!! Then crop out a bunch of crap and make it Valentine's-y... Here is what I came up with.
  14. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Here is the colored finished piece of Knockout. Colors are by Shinobi from the Atomic Think Tank Forums.
  15. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Yeah I tried with cape and without and he seemed to look better without. Too cheesy looking with a cape, heh heh.
  16. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Soundwave Pencils...
  17. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread No problem bigbywolfe, when the colors are done by my friend, I will post them here for you. @BobGreenwade: Well, I am currently sketching Soundwave from the Rainbow's End Campaign... Pencils will be done today most likely (barring wife aggro). I am doing a special effects background for this one. I think it will look pretty cool. What I have drawn so far looks pretty good. I like the pose I roughed out. After this there are only two more PCs in that campaign that I could possibly draw. The Fear Thing (and Alona Seed), and Damien Hellfire. I have a few commission requests that I am waiting for details on, so they will hit the top of my drawing list once I get the details. Then I play the what do I feel like drawing game again... heh heh. I was reading Secret Six (by DC Comics), and there was a cool character in there that got me thinking... Vampire Villain/Hero next?
  18. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread He jumped from the ladder behind him.
  19. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Here are the inks for knockout. I don't know when my friend will finish the colors, but I will post them when he is done. This is a night scene, but I left the background white, so it would be easier to color.

  22. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Here are the pencils for KNOCKOUT. It is a night scene, so the background behind him will be dark in the colored piece... I hope it looks okay...
  23. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread I will have a new picture to post tonight, the pencils are near completion... When I get home from work tonight I will finish the pencils. It will be a character played by bigbywolfe in the Rainbow's End campaign, in the Hero pbp system. His name is KNOCKOUT. The pencils are turning out pretty good. I have a little more elaborate background than you are used to seeing from me (cause I am usually too lazy to draw them), so I am still fiddling with all the buildings... It is a night scene, so I have to figure out who is home, and has their lights on. heh heh. Also, a friend of mine on the M&M forums (Shinobi), has agreed to color it for me (I hate coloring by the way), after I am done inking it (which I will be doing hopefully tonight as well or tomorrow night). I think he is excellent with cell shading, so I will share that with you as well when he is done.
  24. Re: Lucha Libre artwork! Ha! I was like, what the heck does that mean... Babel Fish is my new best friend!
  25. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Thanks guys. I hope to be doing another drawing or two over the next few days. I am going to focus on a few player characters from the Hero Boards here, from the Rainbow's End campaign next. Then we'll see where I go from there. I joined the Heroes Artist Guild Community (here), and there is a weekly drawing challenge there, so I will be trying to submit to that each week as well.
