  1. If you buy full shapeshift (sight, hearing, touch, taste/smell) with the "imitation" adder, would you need the skills disquise or mimicry for any particular reason? It kind of reads that you don't but I just wanted to hear it from someone besides myself for sanity check perposes.
  2. For sake of argument, lets assume we're using DEFENDER (or IRON MAN if your not up on your Champions heroes) for the example here. Lets say DEFENDER adds a new feature to his POWER SUIT (which is an OIF Focus) that allows his suit to transform from a Flying Energy Projector to a Ground Brick. That would be MULTIFORM. The question is - if you build the BRICK form, do you build it out of points to JUST cover the armor - or does the second form have to include the Character (or the pilot) as well? Make sense? Logically I would assume MULTIFORM would only cover the vehicle - but HERO only talks about it in the sense of a second form - so would you include the pilot user in that second form? Boggled & Bundersnatched, Kajaro
  3. So your party brick dives off an atmospheric platform Does anyone know how much damage a fall from orbit would be? Just a corny question - but what if a brick literally stepped off an atmospheric platform and plummetted straight to earth and smacked into the ground - say Kansas - something nice and flat? Physics anyone?
  4. Cool Well I definitely had no intention to insult anyone. Power armor is somewhat a new territory. I only used the iron-man-esque armor example to represent mass. Most of the suits ideas I'm hearing sound more like spandex than clunky power armor. I'm going more for the color of the bulky suit. How would you build the power cells - would that be an END RESERVE? If so, how would I build a last ditch attack that allows me to eject the power core and detonate it into a massive explosion. Bearing in mind the consequence that this is the suits main power unit and that it would have to go on some sort of backup. Anyone know of links to find power armor related artwork?
  5. Armor? I'm thinking more along the line of an Iron Man-esque armor suit from the Ultimates combined with Alien technology. Long story short - the character discovered a crashed spacecraft in the ocean with alien technology. Holograms of the original inhabitants share alien physic concepts and such and advanced schematics to allow this character to build an advanced technological suit. Obviously with that kind of technology it's highly likely this character would own a corporation like Wayne Tech or Stark Enterprises. I'm not copying these from the comics - but saving time for anyone reading this so they can understand the kind of color I'm going for quickly. I guess I should have put it in the original post - I just didnt want to get too involved in detail. Thoughts?
  6. Oops Didn't mean to be so broad - I guess I was in a hurry. I'm looking some of the following: 1. Cool links where I could get some artwork on power armor. 2. Ideas for Power Armor-esque Powers besides the standby of ARMOR and ENERGY BLASTS. 2a. movement powers, sensory powers, defensive powers, etc. 3. Colorful concepts for how/why the power armor works? I have kind of an idea for one type of attack - but don't know how to build it either. Imagine the power cells overheating or corrupting - and having the ability to eject them or force the eject so they explode. So I would have to work through what that does - does it render the suit at partial power running on backup or shut it down? Just one idea I had.
  7. To simplify the current game world - imagine your standard high power (350pt) campaign with the color somewhere close to the Justice League cartoon. Would anyone care to share some ideas for a power armor characters - power armor? Help!
  8. Has anyone out there ever craved to run or play in a HERO Fantasy campaign that is completely different from the stereotypical - dwarves, humans, elves we meet in a bar and hack an orc in two - type game? I'm curious to here if there are completely different campaign worlds out there and what they are like.
  9. Great! Hey that works - I love it. Uhm. If anyone has more idea's on different limitations or disads - besides those mentioned or discussed - I could greatly use the help. I'm not so much interested in powergame point mashing - just a colorful roleplay scenario with its own built in obstacles to deal with.
  10. Before I forget ... In the above instance, how would you list the Dependence? Are Duplicates very common since they are always around or extremely rare/unique since besides the four of them there aren't any? Boggle ...
  11. Helpful! This information is very helpful. Thanks! I do like the dependent disadvantage based on recombination - and your tips are helpful. So curious - if a Duplicate dies ... and your power said x4 duplicates - does it become story at that point for x3 or do you get points back or do you rebuy it later or is it just color or ... or... or... or... was THREE REALLY COMPANY? (John Ritter remembered).
  12. So I have a dark champions hero who can divide himself into four copies - totalling out five full on heroes. What I'm looking for is some interesting limitations to take with duplication but am throwing my books up in the air as I don't know where to begin. Help? Some thoughts I've had are along the lines of: 1. Requires EGO roll to duplicate with a cumulative -1 for each duplicate present -1/2. Thus making it more difficult to keep cranking out duplicates on the fly. 2. Death of a dupicate is permanent -1/4. 3. Don't know how this would work, but the color is - after a given time period (day maybe?) he begins to strain and its difficult to keep himself spread out. Maybe requiring some kind of roll ... but what happens if he fails it? He takes stun? The duplicates do? I don't know how this works or how to make it work. 4. Anything else we can think up? I like the character - I just don't want my character to run roughshod through a game or have infinite abilities to send duplicates to the four corners of the world. Additionally I'm thinking it would be cool if he was more comfortable with being duplicated into 2 beings most of the time but could strain to be a total of 5 - the later just being difficult. Make anything resembling sense? Any help would be fantastic as I'm completely at a brick wall - and hitting my head against it profusely. Kajaro.
  13. Interesting ... So ... 1) Mind Link with a limitation intutive only, and also with the limitation only with others who have mind link should help buy the cost down. 2) Would the mind scan trick be the same as detect duplicates sense?
  14. mmkay? ... It's almost like they can hear what one another is hearing, and react to it, but not mentally say anything ... weird I guess.
  15. I'm looking for some inexpensive solutions to mind link (possibly some modifiers or alternate powers for effect). I have a duplicator who splits into a total of 5 selves (1 lead and 4 dupes). I'm looking to pick up a form of connection between them ... here is what I am looking for: Since each of the dupes is identical to the first I'm wanting to have all of my duplicates almost intuitively know what the other is thinking - but not to such a level where they can flat out talk in each others heads. Here is an example of an interaction that happened in a game: Man1: (standing alongside dupe #4 on 43rd story of a building looking out a window - he picks up a comlink and calls down to the lead-dupe) "I want the area swept for terrorists .. I trust you can handle this... no one is to get into this building, understood?" Dupe #4: (standing next to the man who is talking in a com to the lead-dupe) "We understand." Lead-Dupe: (currently on the ground with the remaining dupes fan out and look for clues). See? I'd like to hear your thoughts how you think this is built and how much it would cost. If it's mindlink - are duplicates considered one mind? 5 minds? like minds? Thoughts? Kajaro
