That said, I think measuring these things in terms of multiples of the animal's own weight is misleading, at least when we are talking about small animals like bugs. Every multiple of an ant's weight only adds a couple of milligrams. Every multiple of my adds 70 kg, which is a heck of a lot more. That said I am amazed that an eagle can fly while carrying 4 times its own body weight. Lifting 4 times one's own weight is impressive, but flying with it? Damn!
