Mark Rand
Anyone know of a substitute for Mako Island from H2O: Just Add Water and Mako Mermaids? I might stick it an an extra-dimensional area.
Lord Liaden
I have a thought, but I'd like some clarification first, please. What plot points/themes/character types from the series do you want to carry over? Are you looking for something published, or just ideas? Specifically based on/derived from Champions, or from any other source? Edited September 13, 2023 by Lord Liaden
Mark Rand
It's a place where merfolk gather. Some may live there permanently, but it's not required. There could be a moonpool, but it's also not required.
Lord Liaden
Um, okay, I already got that part. So, just a place where merfolk gather? Presumably in the contemporary world, like the series? That sounds easy to invent and put wherever you like. What sort of "substitution" do you need? Mark Rand
The idea was that there was a gateway somewhere within the pool, which is normally 16-feet deep, behind the Emsworth Locks and Dam on the Ohio River at Nevelle Island that leads to a pocket universe where the island is. On the Allegheny River, which is one of the sources of the Ohio River, the pool ends at the #2 Locks and Dam, which is just downstream of the Highland Park Bridge. On the Monongahela River, which is the other source of the Ohio River, the pool ends at the #2 Locks and Dam, also called the Braddock Locks and Dam, a bit downstream of the abandoned Carrie Furnace (Railroad) Hot Metal Bridge. The above is, of course, for a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-set campaign.
