Corven_Ren
I was wondering how much of a limitation this would be. I have a charcter who has clinging with the limitation does not work on frictionless surfaces...woulod you all consider this an uncommon or common circumstance?? Hugh Neilson
I would consider it so uncommon as to merit no limitation at all. However,m perhaps your definition of "frictionless" and mine differ. If you provided some examples, you might persuade me that this would be common enough to merit a limitation. Corven_Ren
My idea of frictionless is completely smooth such as glass. He powers are based on reptilian dna, the microscopic scales on his skin must find slight cracks in the surface to latch onto. This would work easily on things such as brick, stone, wood but glass and certain metals would be to smooth for him to cling to.
Blue Jogger
If it comes up, in say, 1 game out of 4 (not counting supervillian interference), then I might give it a -1/4. But, realize that most Clinging isn't foolproof. Spiderman has run across lots of surfaces that he couldn't grip against. Most of these were caused by his annoying supervillians and his Unluck. Glass and smooth metallic surfaces and similar would probably crop up enough that I'd allow -1/4 for it. I don't expect it would show up 1 time in 4, but then a 15- activation roll only fails one time in 20.
CrosshairCollie
It's less a 'frictionless' surface in this case than he can't cling to an exceptionally smooth surface; glass and, presumably, smooth metal would both squelch his climbing ability. I'd give a 1/4 for that in an urban environment.
