Capt JT Kohonez
Fantasy HERO!! I recently purchased Fantasy Hero and was wondering about converting other materials like AD&D, D&D and Rolemaster over. I know the last edition of Fantasy Hero had a conversion section but this new book doesn't.

Lord Liaden
Re: Fantasy Hero Conversions Besides Killer Shrike's excellent website, there are a few other online sources for direct conversion between D&D/AD&D and HERO: Forgotten Realms HERO. Notes on using the Forgotten Realms setting. There are a number of classic D&D monsters given the HERO Fifth Edition treatment on the "Creatures of Myth and Legend" section of Michael Surbrook's marvellous website, Surbrook's Stuff. The following sites use stats from 4th Edition HERO System, but the differences are small enough that they're usually easy to figure out: Birthright Hero. Adapting the Birthright campaign setting. Dungeon Hero. Conversions of many of the creatures, races, spells, classes etc. from the classic AD&D sourcebooks. As for direct conversion of Rolemaster material, I'm not personally aware of any on the web at present. There were a number of books that were dual-statted for Rolemaster and HERO when ICE controlled both systems - they could probably be used as guidelines if you find them from used game dealers. The Shadow World setting books were among these, but the quality of the HERO stats in some of them is questionable. The "Campaign Classics" series was much better in that regard; I'd particularly recommend Mythic Egypt and Vikings, very well written and detailed (in 4E HERO System).
