help with a spell

In my new Fantasy campain a spell is need to locate a race in an area so that anther race can find it (with bad intent). A friend suggested a detect usable on orthers sight with sticky with a mega scale so that any one in the area can see the race glow and the sticky so the footprints glow and can be followed. The spell last the night.

 

This has some advantages, a dispell will only dispell the target unless it is an area effect. The special effect of the footprints glowing the night and the charaters glowing will be amusing (for everyone else).

For the tracking aspect, you should use the Tracking adder from Enhanced Senses, not Sticky. What Sticky would do is allow someone else to Detect the race after being touched by the person the spell was cast on.

If you want to detect a certain race (say elves) so that their enemies can find them easily try: Detect, Area Effect,Megascale,Indirect, Usable on others, Ranged, No Range modifier. [only on those with hostile intent towards Elves]

You might even try MIND SCAN (limited class of minds: Elves) usable on others etc, cannot attack through link ( just find them).
