The coaxial MG was .30 cal, just like the hull mounted one. A .50 cal MG was often AA mounted in on top of the turret, but a .30 cal could be as well.

Also, the bow machine gun was removable and included a tripod stored underneath (this was true for most german tanks as well). Handy for when your vehicle gets damaged. I don't know how that would work, cost-wise.

not having a good regular reference on armor handy' date=' I went with what I borrowed from GURPS WW2[/quote']

I've seen weird stats from GURPS books. For instance they show a Stuart having triple linked MGs. I have no idea where that came from.

Here are some spreadsheets with info on various US and German vehicles ...

There are more here ...

It's for a computer game called Combat Mission which uses some real-world data in its engine. Its super groggy so the data has been extensively fact checked. Plus its nice to see all the stats in the same format which is sometimes difficult when relying on books and web pages.

More Sherman info here:

Finally, this is one of my favorite tank sites. Its a collection of photos of the insides of various tanks. The selection if limited but it gives a good feel for what it must have been like to fight inside one.

Re: Tanks for the Memories... Sherman M4

I posted my version of the Sherman some time back (around the time TUV came out). If you are interested you could probably find it in a search. One of the main differances was I included AP, HE and WP rounds for the main gun and added a rep, burns easily. Looks good though.
