Pentoth
What is the best way to simulate the fact that a Green Lantern ring is capable of replicating any power in the HERO SYSTEM book at the wielders whim? I also am curious how it would any effect such as when Guy Gardner making women to give him back massage or new JLA where the GL creates popcorn for his team mate to eat. CDad
Re: Green Lantern I'd write off a few of those obscure Ring powers to bad writing. Popcorn? Erk.....

TheEmerged
Re: Green Lantern VPP is the traditional answer to this question. However, no small percentage of its effects as shown in the comic are simple Telekinesis representing "force manipulation". The fact that it looks like women instead of a giant hand (or boxing glove) is either just a special effect or a representation of a higher Power skill (GM's call). SleepyDrug
Re: Green Lantern Theemerged has a good point. For the most part, regardless of the visual effect (something emphsized when Kyle was GL) Green Lantern rarely uses more than a few powers. Telekinesis, EB, Flight, FTL, Force Field, Life Support, Enhanced Senses. But the specifics change frequently. Without a VPP, you'd really need variable advantages. Yep, you could do him either with a cosmic VPP limited to Cosmic Energy Attack (and maybe Movement) Powers, and FF, LS, and ES outside the pool, or a big AP multipower of attack powers (TK, EB, Entangle, RKA -even CvK heroes often need to break up stuff and destroy robots & undead) with a big Variable Advantage (at the very least +1 Advantages, since he often uses AoE and Megascale). It wouldn't be out of question to allow the VA to be aded to the multipower reserve instead of single slots. Moreover, a Movement Multipower with a Virtual Advantage Flight slot, a Flight slot, and a FTL slot. Or an EC with FF, Flight, and FTL. Probably he would not need a Skill Roll to change powers per se (switching between different tried-and-tested applications of the power on the spot in the heat of battle never seems to be an issue, but some kind of limitation might be in order (Int roll or Ego roll or Power skill roll ?) to allow him to properly visualize new applications of the power (in game terms, to go beyond the predetermined example powers list). This is often a relevant issue for him, as it is for other cosmic VPP characters.
