8) KS: Assassination (INT-based) 12-

 

This skill represents a general knowledge about the art of assassination, some history of notable / unusual / famous assassinations, and the ability to discuss the topic in a informed manner without getting into personal experiences. To some extent this also covers the "World of Assassins" in a general, mostly theoretical sense. For instance someone with KS: Assassination might know of a group called "The Left Hand of Midnight" and some high profile assassinations acredited to them, but this wouldnt tell them very much about how the organization actually functioned or whether it still existed under normal circumstances.

11) PS: Assassin (INT-based) 12-

 

This skill represents specific knowledge about the business of being an assassin. How to get and conduct contracts without getting caught, how much to charge for particular contracts, which contracts to avoid for various reasons, and things of that nature. Further it covers how to deal with other assassins in the trade, rules of the craft so to speak, how to interact with Assassins guilds, basic knowledge of direct competition in the area and so forth.

 

This skill can provide practical knowledge or insite that KS: Assassination can't -- for instance in the above "Left Hand of Midnight" example, a person with PS: Assassin may or may not know anything about them specifically (based on their personal experience), but could probably deduce a good deal about how they operate based on their own knowledge of the trade if they ever encountered mention of them or ended up competing with them.

 

 

As is typical of KS's and PS's, KS's are more broad and theoretical, while PS's are more practical and applied.

 

A working Assassin really only needs PS: Assassination to be a creditable professional, but KS: Assassination can certainly come in handy, particularly as a source of creative approaches to a contract -- if faced with a difficult mark it can be handy to have a proven method that worked in a similar situation in the past.

Yes, as it is constructed Ollix can use the Drain every single Phase if he wants.
