Re: Global Guardians Campaign Opening (PBEM)

vis-a-vis nationality' date=' how would you characterize an alien being who has adopted a country other than America as its home?[/quote']

As an alien being who adopted another country as its home. :)

That certainly would seem to be fine--interesting, in fact, since typically you see backgrounds of aliens who land in New York, Los Angeles, Cape Canaveral, Roswell, or the Nevada desert, but pretty much no place else. Bring it on.

Re: Global Guardians Campaign Opening (PBEM)

We have received several submissions for the Global Guardians 1, 2, 3, and 4 campaigns. As a reminder, the deadline for submissions is Friday, January 13, 2006, at 11:59 U.S. EST. Please send the characters to robcrogers3@gmail.com

First, just as a point of clarification, in addition to the current PCs displayed on those campaign pages, two slots have been reserved for players from the Global Guardians 4 campaign that folded. The GMs have not yet determined which campaigns these PCs will end up in, but will be in the final rosters. These PCs are:

  • Spectrum (Mark Ayen)
  • Twilight (Kristopher Gruner)

That still leaves a total of 9 slots (including slots designated for new Guardsman and Gunmetal PCs).

We have received the following submisssions:

  • Andar (Seth Robbins)
  • Black Diamond (Robin Kaspar)
  • Cybertron (Seth Robbins)
  • Doctor Chiropterus (Dave Mattingly)
  • Great Eagle (Michael Kirkley)
  • Guardsman II, Zootlo Ti!max (Neil Ma)
  • Harbinger (Matthew Northrop)
  • Jaguar Pequeno (Michael Kirkley)
  • Pulse (Seth Robbins)
  • Sentidos Magia (KL Wilson)
  • Snake Eater (Seth Robbins)

Also, this seems to be a good place to address a few items and questions that have come up with various submissions:

  • 350 base points plus 150 points in Disadvantages means that these are 500-point characters. If you have an established 350-point character who you want reviewed as is, we can take that into consideration, but you'll eventually need to spend those 150 points and (if the PC already exists in the GGU) incorporate an explanation for the power increase.
  • Each player is only allowed to have one PC in the Global Guardians teams. This means that existing Global Guardians players may not submit PCs at this time and that if you submit multiple characters, a maximum of one will be accepted.
  • We are getting a fairly high percentage of American PC submissions. Keep in mind that these are international teams. If you're looking for ideas, take a look at existing PCs and choose underrepresented areas.
  • Remember to keep the JLA/Avengers model in mind. The most common reason we will probably have for not selecting a character is "this PC is not epic enough."

Re: Global Guardians Campaign Opening (PBEM)

Here's Jack's announcement of team lineups, thank you all who submitted (it was a lot of fun reading the characters):

Okey doke, without further ado:

Global Guardians Team 1: Adamant, Chronos, Gunmetal, Los Hermanos, Raptor, Rook, Tachyon, and Wave Rider

Global Guardians Team 2: ArrowStar, Aurora, Barrier, Doctor Archeville, Samsonite, Stone, Twilight, and Uriel.

Global Guardians Team 3: Achilles, Bandit, Black Pharos, Bungie, Gilgamesh, Guardsman, Spectrum, and Warlock

Global Guardians Team 4: Britannic, Doctor Chiropterus, Flare, Harbinger, Sentidos Magia, Silicon Sentinel, Snake Eater, and X

Since I'm not sure if all of the new folk are on the admin list, I sent it directly to your email as well. So if you get this message twice, you're in. If you get it once, but aren't subscribed to the admin list, you're in.

Those of you who have not already done so need to subscribe to both the mailing list of the individual campaign for which you were chosen and the administrative list (which are both a requirement of play; membership in any other list is optional). If you have any questions, please contact me directly.

We'll be working to get the new characters audited as quickly as we can.

To those folks who didn't make it, we're sorry. There were more submissions than we had slots for characters, or else we probably would have tried to fit all of you in there. Lord knows I had a really, really hard time choosing (in the end, I quite literally flipped a coin nine times), and I am sure that Rob, James, and Roland had a hard time with it as well.

Congratulations to Samantha Numen! (aka Andrew Olmsted)

Congratulations to Flare!

Great to see another New Man get back into circulation.

Now the Numen family have spread into:

Hero City (Jungle Boy)

Dawnstars (Chloe Numen)

Global Guardians (Flare)

Just need to find Saul somewhere in the timestream, and get Jeremy, Inez and May into a team.
