Moonblade Posted September 1, 2006 Report Share Posted September 1, 2006 I'm having a problem understanding the difference between Telekinesis and Psychokinesis in Champions. They are both moving things with your mind and basically STR at range. I've been reviewing a great Jedi Academy campaign where they use BOECV to imitate the Force. Here's the basic question: how do you target inanimate objects with an ego value attack or power?? Especially in Star Wars, this is what you'd be doing most of the time. Please help! Telekinesis is the ability to use STR at range with certain restrictions built in. Such SFX as "Zero Point Energy" can be built with Telekinesis, Tractor Beams, or any other SFX that allows the character to exert STR over range. Psychokinesis is where that STR is specifically controlled by the Mind and thus the "Based on EGO" portion. However, the "Based on EGO" with Telekinesis has special rules that are different than the standard "Based on EGO" rules. It says that the target still uses thier DCV instead of ECV for defense combat value. This means that any object would get their normal DCV value against a Psychokinesis attack. So if Jedi A (ego 17) wants to pick up a book from a table 3" away from him, then it would be ECV 6 vs DCV 3 (+4 for size) no range modifiers. Thanks all for the help.
