proditor
There are actually a few of these sorts that make the rounds of defense contractors from time to time. "X-wing" Helicopters, Advancing blade concepts, compound choppers. Here's a couple that flew, and a few that haven't. Yet. http://www.helis.com/50s/h_rotdyn.php And yes, a video of it flying: A modern Rotodyne derivative: http://www.cartercopters.com/ (Check out the videos) Now, some that haven't, all of these are post-WW2. AlHazred
Re: Takes off like a helicopter, flies like a plane! (Crosspost from Champions) Couldn't tell if it was in some of those, but my favorite for Pulp games is the Weserflug P.1003/1, I used it as the team transport for my Vigilance League campaign. No, those were mostly 1950s+ The British had something similar to the Weserflug...I'll see if I can find it. Always amazes how much those things seem to go in waves. No one is working on it, then everyone is racing to finish one.
