My interpretation of Sonic powers is that they are more likely to do damage of a vibratory nature, and the damage therefore would probably go against PD. So my sonic chick would kick your sonic chicks butt.

Too bad I'm the GM. Looks like your sonic chick got squashed in a freak storm of blue thumbs from the sky.

 

 

Perhaps TEP will give some guidance but I think Sonics usually target ED.

I usually think of PD as representing hardness, and ED as representing conductivity. In other words, ED is for heat, electricity, the electromagnetic spectrum, and radiation, while PD would resist vibration and sonics.

 

But so long as it's standardized across the campaign, it should be fine.

The USPD supports that sonics is applied vs. ED (though I personally could see either). They have an NND RKA where the defense is an ED Force Field and their version of sonic immunity is ED Damage Reduction.
