Mark Rand
Although this is for the Seacouver campaign, it can be used anywhere. Richard Spaulding, the city's liaison to the team stopped by to invite them to one of the city's country clubs for the first "Black Tie & Tailpipes" gala that would serve as the kickoff for the city's Vintage Car Grand Prix. It and a number of races would be held at Seacouver Raceway. He had also arranged an autograph session for the heroes and would see about arranging for them to take a parade lap and for some of them to give the command to fire the engines. He finishes by handing out copies of the event schedule. Of course, there will be problems, both large and small. Among the large are a bunch of mooks attacking the gala, either to steal something or kidnap someone and the sighting of a pegasus and rider over the track, during the Vintage. Seacouver Raceway is based on Pacific Raceways. Their URL is http://www.pacificraceways.com. Also, The American Gladiators will be returning this fall on NBC and some of them might show up at the race for autograph sessions, too. Mark Rand
Re: A "Vintage" plot, take 2 The Vice President's 14 year old daughter, who lives in the city, with her mother's parents, would probably be invited to the gala. We could have one group of mooks trying to kidnap her while another broke in to steal stuff. Oh, my mistake about Seacouver Raceway. It and Pacific Raceways are two different tracks. Mark Rand
Re: A "Vintage" plot, take 2 I will have an MS Word document with information about Seacouver Raceway attached soon. If the event was held in Pittsburgh, and 25 years old this year, the gala would be held at the Oakmont Country Club (where it is held), with the main race in Schenley Park with other races held at BeaveRun and Washington County Raceway. URLs for more info are: http://www.oakmont-countryclub.org, http://www.beaverun.com, & http://www.pvgp.org. Washington County Raceway and Seacouver Raceway are based on the now defunct Second Creek Raceway, which was located near Denver.

Tigereye
Re: A "Vintage" plot, take 2 Deuce will not be attending, due to an unfortunate scheduling conflict... he will be sending his far more high-profile (and more photogenic) compatriot instead, Metal Master (keep him away from the antique cars, however, when the fight starts!)... Deuce's alter ego, however, will be in attendance, along with his handsome almost-factory-condition 1965 Aston Martin D.B.5 Vantage coupe (less than 10,000 original miles), in original pewter-grey metallic paint with dark red leather interior, 4-litre straight-6 dual overhead cam engine, 5-speed overdrive gearbox, 3 twin-barrel Weber carbs, and all major options. He will of course enter the easier portion of the Grand Prix, the one for the old show cars-- if nothing else because there are a lot of options that weren't installed in Newport Pagnell, including one even that fictional chap Mark Hazard wouldn't guess at... According to my friend Blaine, who races in SCCA-sanctioned events, and who has been helping me with the racing part of the plot, your car would race in the over 2 litre class. Mark Rand
Re: A "Vintage" plot, take 2 I'm making a change in the Pittsburgh area tracks. Construction on the Washington County Raceway was started in 1989 and completed two years later. The course layout is identical to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, http://www.midohio.com (flash required).
Mark Rand
Re: A "Vintage" plot, take 2 It's official. Seacouver Raceway is going to be based on the old Second Creek Raceway, which was in the Denver area. Information on it is in the attached file. Edit: The Seacouver Raceway sheet has been deleted. With the campaign changed to Pittsburgh, the local track will be Washington County Raceway. It's information sheet is attached. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix will be held in Schenley Park in order to show off the city.
