Maccabe
I'd like to know if anyone can lead me to a link or somewhere that I could find "real life" laws, their classifications, and sentences without me having to go to law school. Marcus Impudite
Re: The Law: Felonies and other crimes A good starting place would be this Wikipedia article. From there, you should be able to narrow your parameters until you find what you're looking for.
Maccabe
Re: The Law: Felonies and other crimes Thanks for the info. I am trying to build a basis for legal systems in my games and needed a starting place. This site looks very nice !
Legatus
Re: The Law: Felonies and other crimes I'd try to make up that for myself. It might be considered inconsistent, unfair and prejudiced by the players, but that's the way life goes, isn't it?
Querysphinx
Re: The Law: Felonies and other crimes Usually you can find a copy of your state's "revised statutes" on the state govt web site. Otherwise Google "revised statutes" and the state you're interested in.
Maelstrom
Re: The Law: Felonies and other crimes Basic criminal law hornbook might run you $50 new, maybe $35 used. It'll get you sorted.
Jim
Re: The Law: Felonies and other crimes Here are links to Washington State criminal law in the US (note: this is just laws at the state level. Other more minor offenses may be classified under city codes): Title 9 of the Revised Code of Washington - misc criminal laws Title 9A of the Revised Code of Washington - the meaty stuff incl classification of crimes. Hope it helps to have a real world example! Jim aka Time Tripper aka The Fighting Banana Slug
