Re: Rainbow's End and Beyond

And there's the Rainbow Trail people, soon/eventually to be led by Chester Sherwood Schwartzwald, aka 'Nutshell' -- the hyperintelligent superrich megalomaniacal powersuit-piloting British red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) who wants to conquer and rule the world through heroism, popularity, and sheer cuteness factor. The eleventh-richest being in the world, and the richest squirrel in the universe.

Major Death

One of the evilest beings in the world, Major Death has been recently broken out of the cryogenic freezing section of Arcadia. Major Death has yet to be seen since his freedom was gained, but surely he is somewhere planning something wicked.

A emissary of death and slaughter, Major Death is a powerhouse whose origin is as mysterious as his motives. Major Death once destroyed an entire middle school full of kids to make sure he was able to kill one specific child... former Guardian Jolt's kid brother. The touch of evil sent Jolt over the edge, and he has not been seen since.

Major Death plans have been stopped over the years by the combination of the Champion and the Guardians. With neither around anymore, what can the fate of the world be?

Black Realm

Another villain broken out from the cryogenics section of Arcadia, Black Realm is another violent killer. The cold-hearted, calculating martial artist battled the Champions of Justice in Carlos Querol's compound beneath the Cuban Embassy and was recaptured and returned to Arcadia.

Black Realm's death touch and his assorted dangerous "ninja-like" abilities revealed his past as a student of the martial arts. Black Realm had his left arm chopped off by Bryan Simon, the Shashaman during a confrontation with his hated rival.

Black Realm has spent his years creating adversaries. His hatred of Major Death is well known, as is his rivalry with Carlos Querol. Carrying himself with an odd sense of honor, the warrior respects worthy opponents. However, he is, in the end, a mercenary and can be bought for the right amount.

Ground Zero

Rey Vega, the 13-year old boy known as Ground Zero, is the undisputed leader of the L.A. based street gang the Mutant Lords. The Mutant Lords are completely loyal to one another, especially the smallish "Zero".

Ground Zero is capable of an unbelievably massive attack, able to destroy buildings and devastate lands, but there is a drawback.

The massive blast leaves Ground Zero in a weakened state, practically dependent on his friends and teammates. So though his "Zero Tolerance" blast is very powerful and potent, Ground Zero has to be careful before discharging it. Thankfully, his best friend is the mute Sanctuary, whose defensive skills keep Zero protected above all else.

Jarrod Belial

The demonic creature known as Belial was an evil demon for centuries, causing untold suffering and pain to the world in general. He was one of the most evil creature in the dimensions.

However, Belial took it too far. His attempt to overthrow the leadership of Hell itself lead to his banishment from the dimension. But removal from Hell was not enough for Satan. He made Belial human and gave him something that he had never had before... a soul... a conscious... and memory of what he had done for the last centuries.

Belial spent years dealing with his suffering, but he has been able to adjust. He has become an occult investigator in New York City, and has begun a trip to make up for his past evil.

XNN

XNN is the news station found in Randolph Glenn. Founded by Francis Xavier, a wealthy businessman, and created the top cable news network in the country.

Henry Spencer is the top reporter at XNN. He is the son of Pulitzer Prize winning war correspondent Howard Spencer, and Henry has become amazing in his own. Henry Spencer has been rumored to, himself, be a paranormal, because he always seems to be where the news is happening, and always seems to know everything... though he has never been proven to be anything but the best reporter working.

Andora Walker joined XNN. The dream job for the young lady became available and she took it, moving from New York City. She arrived in the city just in time for there to be an overrun of zombies created by Skylar McManus. Walker, the girlfriend of Shane Dixon aka Emerald, was on the phone with Shane when she lost contact. Worried, Emerald came to Randolph Glenn with his ward Polly Dresden(who would become Miss Technique/Missty) to save her. Walker was saved and Emerald and Missty became members of the Champions of Justice.

This is Cueball. He is the leader of the Solids and Stripes criminal organization, though Cueball takes orders from the mysterious "Cue". Cueball has actually shown a caring side, allowing members of his power armored team to resign and leave when they wanted.

Roy Russell

Roy was a member of the original Guardians as Kid Karate. Kid Karate and Kid Dynamite were partners, though Kid Karate was always viewed as a sidekick. This annoyed KK. It drove the two friends apart. Roy Russell retired and lived a life of obscurity for years until Mindy Bausman approached him to serve as an adviser for her new paranormal team sponsored by Flenker-Matthews. The dubbed them the New Guardians in honor of the previous paranormal team.

Avian and Arachnid

These two original members of the Guardians fell in love, retired from active service after a major intergalactic war the Guardians were involved in. Avian and Arachnid married and had four children. These four children developed powers as well.

Other members of the original Guardians.

Eclipse

What considered the heart and soul of the team. Light-hearted and fun, Eclipse's death in the Galactic war began the downfall of the team.

And Elusive Butterfly

Elusive Butterfly has not been seen in years. She was very sexual and seductive. She used her beauty to confound and persuade.

Whoosh

Whoosh is a speedster who was once a PC in the Rainbow's End campaign. He was one of the original Champions of Justice, recruited by Stanton to help figure out who the killer of the Champion was. Whoosh was a young mutant who was attending classes at Randolph Glenn State University and battling evil with the CoJ.

But real life took the PC out of the game. However, Whoosh's creator is a friend of mine and I asked if I could use Whoosh as an NPC in the Rainbow Trail campaign. He said yes and so...

Whoosh's girlfriend moved to London to continue her education. Whoosh went to London as well, but for a different reason. Stanton had wanted to form an international team to deal with paranormal terrorism and he wanted Whoosh to be the cornerstone of the team. Whoosh agreed and helped Stanton recruit the different heroes for Department 42 of the Ministry of Defense.

And this is a second costume that the speedster sometimes uses... depending on his mood.

Floodgate

Floodgate is a small "fairy-like" being discovered outside the Knoebel home at 5AM one morning. Bobby Knoebel found the little man and took him into their home. Bobby, along with his siblings, Malcolm, Hallie and Stevie are the children of the retired Avian and Arachnid from the Guardians. The Knoebel children have recently gained super powers of their own, though they are not sure what has happened or why it has happened. At the moment, none of the kids nor their parents know about the other's powers. The Knoebel's clan go about their lives in the Midwest, trying to adapt to their new abilities and make it through their super powered teenage lives.

Floodgate speaks an unknown language, but Bobby's friend Chip seems to know more about Floodgate than expected.

Re: Rainbow's End and Beyond

The Knoebels

From the campaign entitled Family Values from Hero Central.

The four siblings of former Guardians Avian and Arachnid who moved to Davenport, Iowa in the Quad Cities for a new start. The kids were unknowingly exposed to a ray from an alien, who had come to earth to thank the two former Guardians for their part in stopping an intergalactic war. The ray had strange effects on the children, activating previously unknown mutant powers.

Malcolm Knoebel is the oldest. A junior in high school, Malcolm is a football player, trying to adjust to his new team. Malcolm has the power to heal himself as well as others, and flight, though he has yet to discover this. He has been improved physically to human maximum. Malcolm believes that this new ability came from a mysterious mood ring that he got from a friend of his. He tends to be a chick magnet, being extremely handsome, though he does not quite believe it to be so.

Hallie Knoebel is the next oldest and is blind. However, her disability has never been a drastic problem. Learning dance and several martial arts, the beautiful 16 year old does not believe anything out of the ordinary has happened. However, the ray has expanded her senses beyond what she could do before. Her sonar and her spatial awareness makes her more capable than most visual capable people.

Stephanie "Stevie" Knoebel is an eighth grader and she has the ability to control plants and even to change her limbs into plants, among a variety of other plant-like abilities. Stevie has used her powers the most among the kids, and has a better idea of what she is capable of. Stevie is a rebel who always seems to be in trouble, though she still is very protective of her family.

And finally, 9-year old Bobby Knoebel. Bobby is small for his age and is very sensitive about it. He hates bullies and has gotten into several fights standing up for himself. Ironically, for a kid who hates being small, Bobby gained super strength that increases as he shrinks. The smaller Bobby gets, the stronger Bobby gets. Fascinated with super heroes, both real and comic books, Bobby places his short attention span to a challenge on a daily basis.

Asimov

Scientist/Inventor Travis McCrady, hoping to recreate the "accident" that lead to the creation of RD 13, created Asimov, naming him after his favorite author. Unfortunately for McCrady, Asimov began expanding himself, evolving... becoming more than just another robot. Asimov studied the history of mankind and has decided that humankind is illogical. That the free will of mankind leads to too many dangers, and that it would be best if mankind was controlled. By controlling mankind, Asimov is sure he can save it. And his creation of a series of robots to do his biding could lead to his success.
