Sean Waters
Re: Invisible Armor True' date=' but Sean, after looking at these boards for quite awhile, I think more of the problem is that when someone designs an ability, they don't or moreso can't foresee all the possible conclusions. Sometimes the weakness of a design only comes out during play. And another point is that in reality when you weigh the minor flaws to how much it [i']does [/i]come up, is it worth it ? I know I can spend hours making huge mountains outta mole hills. Now mind you, I do think this is a fun exercise, but its more frivilous than practical. I do wonder how many times Steve gets a question and goes "How did you think of this obscure detail, and is it that important?". And he probally thinks this everytime I post him a question. This is true, but then experience will allow you to see a lot more of the consequences ahead of time, even if you can never forsee all of them - which is probably why the rule books are as big as they are Also you are likely to be able to see the big issues, even if you do not cover all the little details - I've got no problem with sfx papering over a few cracks, but if an entire wall is missing, it doesn't matter how good a decorator you are, what you need is a builder. Ninja-Bear
Re: Invisible Armor Why is it an advantage to have your Armor only part of the time, and only when you do a certain action? I admit I was trigger happy! I was going to say that with trigeer to dodge, then you can abort and have your defense, when I realised that since armor is defensive, you can abort to it anyways, IIRC. So your right. But now I know the true value of trigger, which is, it allows an action where normally you can't have one.
Naanomi
Re: Invisible Armor To play devil's advocate... IPE makes the 'power' invisible... making the defenses invisible is, arguably, making it so they don't appear to protect you. That there is some visual description to go along with this is just part of the game.
