randian
The Analyze is more expensive, and range easily seems within the scope of it, along with things like albedo, emissivity, absorption, reflectivity, diffraction efficiency, etc.
Lucius
Re: Would Absolute Range Sense be redundant with Analyze Sight? Analyze Sight might still call for a Perception roll to get the Range exact. It probably depends on whose running the game, but Range Sense may be more reliable. Kraven Kor
Re: Would Absolute Range Sense be redundant with Analyze Sight? Unless you know that Absolute Range Sense will somehow be that incredibly useful in your campaign, I'd allow it as part of the Analytical Sight. It is only 3 points and of little use in most instances - I've had it on almost ever robot / cyborg I've ever built as a GM, and maybe once had to tell a player "It has Absolute Range Sense, your argument is invalid." I never had to use the ARS I put on the only Champs character I ever got to play, the cybernetic Hardcase, but comforted myself after all my defeats that those 3 points wouldn't have mattered anywho That being said, as Lucius stated, ARS is automatic, no roll - you know the range down to the millimeter. While Analytical Sight would require a PER roll to get said info.
