quozaxx
First past and future events are colliding. Part 1: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php/83391-Past-and-Future-collide#post2112547 Now, a young scientist claiming to be from the year 2500 walks into the station and offers his help. He manages to build (or help build if you also have the capability) a device that will not only locate the source but destroy it if need be. It will put back everything the way it is supposed to be - hopefully. He also gives you a communication device that will not be effected by the time shifts, so he can stay in contact with you without getting into the heat of the situation if a battle ensues. A new complication has arose. Since time is slipping dimensional movement and teleportation are unreliable. You never seem to land where you want to land. (And even if you have "safe blind teleport", that may not be the case anymore.) The device he built leads you to an apartment building in another state. Without Teleportation this may take longer than originally planned. When you get closer, the source looks to be in the middle of a partial skyscraper. Most of it has been change in one way or another by the time shifts. You get called on the radio from the scientist. The man tells you that paradox anomolies are popping up, and they are killing people (or at least making them so they've never existed), so expediency is of most importance. Up to 100 people a minute are "killed". As you approach the skyscraper, you notice Mechanon in the distance. He is not the source of the time distortion, but may be also looking for the source. Now here's the kicker. He's a very early model of Mechanon. Probably more easily destroyed. And with communications and teleportation messing up, he may not be able to get "back" to another body. You may be able to get rid of him forever! So, do you attack Mechanon, with the knowlede that every minute 100 or more people are killed? Or do you continue inside the skyscraper and deal with the time distortion?
Stone
Re: Past and Future collide: Opportunity Quantum - Not even a question. Heads into the skyscrapper Stone - Thoroughly disgusted by missing a chance to turn Mechanon into a garbage can, heads into in the skyscrapper
Stalin_McRally
Re: Past and Future collide: Opportunity Braidstar would estimate that even an hour of battling mechanon (6000 ppl) would still outweight the the fatalities he causes if left alone a year or so. so she would jump at the chance to test her axe! hfergus
Re: Past and Future collide: Opportunity All except Olorin would take care of the time anomolies first. Since "It will put back everything the way it is supposed to be" the people 'dying' should come back. If not, very probably destroying Mechanon would be a net plus. But of course "the way it is supposed to be" may mean Mechanon is still around. He'd give it a go anyway.
