Re: Stalwart (Rainbow's End)

Background/History:

William "Liam" Walker was born in upstate New York in 1987 to William "Bill" Walker CEO of a Public Relations Firm and Jennifer (nee Nelson) Walker a Supreme Court Judge. The youngest of seven children Liam was born a mutant with superhuman strength, stamina, and resilience. Fearing for their child's safety he was raised at home and home schooled until he turned twelve years old and they deemed him responsible enough to go to public school.

Where any other child entering public school late in life might suffer social issues Liam's natural intelligence and imposing build aloud he to navigate high school with ease. Considering who his parent were it was not a complete surprise. He also had the help of his older siblings.

Liam excelled academically, but barely managed to pass athletically, but his teachers never seemed concern. He graduated with honors. It was no surprise when he attended Columbia University School of Law in Manhattan, New York where he graduated with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) and passed the State Bar and New York City Bar Association.

He accepted a position in the family business in the public relations department. Where he excelled at making people comfortable and handed the Media with aplomb. Liam's Pro Bono (Legal Council and Aid) work brought the firm plenty of good PR too.

In 2009 his mother was involved in a RICO case and received several credible death threats, but was undeterred. At his father's request Liam joined his mother to and from Court and stayed close. Annoyed, but knowing from experience she could not send him away she suffered in silence.

A VIPER hit squad attacked Judge Walker as she left the Court House one evening, but where unprepared for a Superhuman Bodyguard. The Media caught the event on live feed and a new superhero was born. He managed to thwart three more attempts. One by the the supervillain Pulsar who Liam beat badly.

Unfortunately the Media attention made it difficult to go back to work at the family firm. Liam used his savings and trust fund to buy an office on the waterfront and opened his own law practice. Two years later after several misadventures he added a Private Investigations.

Although a public Superhero he manages to expertly handle the Media. His family is rarely targeted by supervillains Stalwart's handling of the VIPER hit squads and Pulsar left them.

Personality/Motivation:

Liam's parents instilled their children with a passion for justice, a sense of public duty, and a strong work ethic. This combined with Superpowers makes being a Superhero the perfect choice. His Law Practice and Private Investigation work compliment his Superhero work and vice versa.

The old quote serves best "To see Justice done". Unlike many Superheroes he does not have trouble dealing with the News Press or the Law.

Powers/Tactics:

Protect Innocents first and then subdue the criminals. Still relatively new to the Superhuman World Stalwart has done his research. Objectively he fights like any other brick, but tries to talk his targets into submission. With time and experience he may develop Brick Tricks and Combat Skill Levels.

Quote:

"Justice is Served"

Appearance:

A tall strongly built good looking young man with a taste for finely tailored business "Power Suits" when at work. He has yet to decide if he needs to get a super suit! When not working he wears causal clothing usually blue jeans, black combat boots, a printed t-shit with New York slogans, rock bands, or cartoon characters and a brown leather jacket and Rangers baseball cap.

Campaign Use/Plot Hooks:

1.) Criminal and Legal Drama, 2.) Superhero in the City, 3.) VIPER, 4.) Stalwart, P.I. (cue Magnum theme song), 5.) The Walker Family

Evelyn "Eve" Walker - Lawyer and Assistant District Attorney (Sister)

Jonathan "Jack" Walker - US Marshal (Brother)

Ryan Walker - Fireman (Brother)

Robert "Bob" Walker - Lawyer and JAG (Brother)

Christina "Chris" Lee (nee Walker) - Lawyer (Sister)

Heather Lee (nee Walker) - Kindergarten Teacher (Sister)

Cheers

Re: Stalwart (Rainbow's End)

Nice character, might want to do minor re-read and edit on the bio section of the character and there is one thing that needs to be fixed- you'll need to slice off 12 points from somewhere to harden his regular PD/ED since you added hardened to Damage Resistance based on those defenses. Again, nice idea- a non standard brick character with lots of potential uses in a campaign beyond just punching out bad guys.

Re: Stalwart (Rainbow's End)

To harden his Resistant defenses without also hardening the PD and ED stats, you would need to buy the defenses as hardened Armor- per the 5th rev book, you MUST apply any advantages to base PD/ED that you add to the Damage Resistance on those defenses. So, you can't just harden the Resistant DEF.
