swobeas
I have a question concerning familiars for mages. I want the mage to buy a familiar as follower, so he has to pay 1 Point per 5 points of the familiar. So far so good. But if you take for example a raven as in the beastiary as a basis with it's total cost of -12 ! and apply ther familiar template to it ( worth of 74 points ) is the resulting cost then really 62 points -> Have to pay 12 points for it? And if so, would the raven without the template cost nothing at all?? Thank's for your help...
Rick
Sounds about right to me. What good is an untrained or un-enhanced raven. Now if it has training that -12 pts will most likely go up. If it's cost is still negative just charge the player 1 pt for the Raven.
Talon
The other way to do it would be to create a "summon familiar" spell with lots of Extra Time and other Limitaitons, which summons a Slavishly Loyal raven. With all the limitations, you could probably get the cost below 12 if that's what you want.

If dispel magic is a common spell in the campaign, then don't expect to keep the familiar for long. However, you could offset this by purchasing the difficult to dispel advantage. Rick
Or summon it and apply the inate advantage. Making it impossible to dispdel. Than again maybe dispelling Familiars is common in this world.
