Eastern Empire fell with Constantinople (capital) in 1453. Though it had been getting progressively smaller I think by the Turks. I think the Western part officially fell 476. I know it didnt last much longer after Atilla the Hun was around (he died in 453 if I remember). Augustus Caesar was the 1st Emperor from I believe (27BC-14AD) I'd say Roman Republic/Empire was at their peak power from about 100BC-200AD or thereabouts.
