Kristopher
I'm creating an NPC with a VPP that allows her to use powers that she has "sampled" from other mutants in the past. In keeping with the nature of the limitation on the VPP, I'm keeping track of the characters she has taken those samples from. I'm trying to decide between two layouts for the list of available powers within the VPP: A) Technical - organized by mechanics, with alphabetical sorting within Attacks, Defenses, Other Powers, and Characteristics. This makes them easy to find during play. Thematic - organized by which mutant they came from. This has a better feel in terms of concetrating on story and atmosphere over mechanics, something I feel is important when using the very mechanically-oriented HERO system. Which would you use, and why?
Pattern Ghost
I'd go with B. Make list headers like "Metalbutt's Powers" and "Shocky Guy's Powers" etc.
Kristopher
Any thoughts you can offer as to why you prefer B?
Fedifensor
I would go with B, because it's more flavorful. Whenever she uses the powers in her VPP, she knows exactly who gave her the power she's using. It would also make a great plot for an adventure, if she started taking on personality traits from the person whose powers she currently has. Kristopher
I'm working on "B" right now. Do you have any idea how hard it is to come up with catchy names for the powers of four different supers at the same time?

It could also come in handy for those occasional types who have personal immunity. Or for those Summers brothers, who have PI that applies against each others' attacks as well as their own. But, mainly for flavor.

Well, I use examples like "Metalbutt" and "Shocky Guy" so you have my sympathy.
