Christopher R Taylor
D&D seems to be promoting clinics teaching how to run games. Here's the promo that showed up at our local gaming board: On Wednesday, January 14th 2015 | 7:00 PM - Salem D&D Adventurers League will host a How to Dungeon Master Workshop that will teach you everything you need to know to take your friends on epic adventures as Dungeon Master (DM) in the Dungeons & Dragons Game. This hands on workshop is for both new and existing DMs who want to learn how to successfully run a game. Attendees will learn the basic rules DMs need to know, tips on prepping for your adventures, plus how to find players, get organized, and conduct your own public or home D&D game. Then we will sit down and play a D&D session while your DM answers questions and explains everything step-by-step. * More Information and class outline will post soon. If there is anything you specifically want us to cover, let me know so we can ensure The DM Training Experience you've been looking for! This is a FREE event for anyone who wants to attend. Instruction will be focused on the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition Rules but many of these concepts will apply to any RPG system. Dice, Dungeon Masters Guides, and everything a DM might need(or want) will be available at a discount during the workshop.Details coming soon. This seems like a good idea, for Hero too. Teaching people basically how to play and run a game would help spread the hobby. I don't know how likely discounts on rules etc are, but the principle is a good one.
