CE would force them to drop the object. Since it is environmental, Life Support should override it. A damaging attack allows the character to keep holding on if he's prepared to take the damage. CE could have a linked attack to go off if the target does not drop the heated object. Oh, and you overlooked Extradimensional Movement, AoE Megascale to move the entire campaign to a dimension where the target just dropped the object.
