  1. Re: Chinese Zodiac Team

Even though the horse was recommmended for the speedster, I think the rabbit would be the best at a "true" speedster, super high speed and dex. He could have a lot of movement (even leaping) with a lot of low powered autofire attacks. And don't forget to give him flying dodge. The horse though could also be a movement specialist, but how about a team mover? Such as a teleporter with x4 mass? You can nstill give the horse speedster type of manuevers. The distiction between the two would be that the horse's DCs come from his strength (higher than rabbit but lower than OX). The rabbit's power comes from his immense speed. Also according to Chinese mythology, there is a hare on the moon, Lunar powers?

I did come up with a unicorn style (Ki-Rin) once upon a time, if you want I could list the manuevers.

    Awesome idea BTW.

  2. Hello herodom, as the title suggests, I'm looking at ideas for a martial art style that would befit oriental dwarfs. The two different concepts I'm looking at are:

    1) A westren style-such as shield and axe. This can show that the dwarfs are oringinally from a "medieval" westren land.

    2) Completely Eastren style-such as naginata and sickle with chains (don't have UMA handy at the moment.

I am open of course to any other suggestions-perhaps a blending? Also, just armed? perhaps unarmed?

Thanks in advance for any all options. :)

  3. Re: About PRIMUS

Those are great ideas. I like the multi-clip idea. Now I don't mind if the said super weapon has a burnout roll. For one at least the agent has a chance to use the weapon, and two, I can see that because it is developmental, you can fry the circuits.

I was thinking that the weapons could have two diffrent settings. First would have now activation roll say 8d6 (just to throw out a number) but the second would be a overload setting (hence unsafe and unstable) perhaps a burnout roll, which destroys the weapon. (3 6's and the weapon explodes!) Captain i'm giving her all she got!

  4. Re: About PRIMUS

Just thinking, how do you want to represent the weapons of Primus? The sources I have said that they are state of the art-hence they have activation rolls. Now I personally have had a problem with activation rolls, would I want a weapon that may or may not fire? Also what damage classes are you looking at? According to the Gadget supplement, that agents weapons were set at a level to annoy the Hero/Vilians but not to overwelm them in one shot.

Another thought about Cyberline, you can use this as a catalyst for creating villians too. The Buffalo (from Enemies 3) was created by the Department of Defense (IIRC). And Orb (from Enemies 2) was a test subject from UNTIL, which cause him to go crazy. these are ideas that you can use if someone is not compatible with Cyberline.

  5. Re: Looking for Ideas/name for UMA villian group

    Thanks for all the suggestions!

What I didn't explain before was I am looking for a group/organization that would be the main villian in a Ultimate Martial Arts type game. I also want to be able to pull various styles across the globe without to much hassle. According to Dark Champions 4e, the Tongs and Yakuza are too clickish (well that is how it seems to me). And lastly I not against not having any mystical stuff but it seems that the only villian groups are mystical/religous in nature. I definatley am not against more super/mutant type villians such as Cheshire Cat, Powerhouse, or even Raccoon (with a name change).

I have thought about a VIPER Nest but I keep thinking why don't they use their guns? Then I thought the other night, what if this Nest is a type of R&D type nest? To develop the best style? Sorta like Dead or Alive (the video game)?

    Any thoughts?

  6. Re: Help with naming a spider themed character.

This one is tough. When my son did play he came up with a villian called the saintly spider! Which we renamed the Sinister Spider. The only other thing I can think of is S.O.S. the Son of Shelob! ;) But really,I myself either think of Arachnid or Tarantula. Good luck!

  7. Re: Looking for Ideas/name for UMA villian group

What I am looking at is something akin to VIPER (or could be a VIPER subgroup). At one time I had was M.A.I.M. (Martial Artists International Mercenaries) but that seems to pigeon hole me. Which is what I am trying to avoid from groups such as Yoshoo from Ninja Hero 4e. It is a cool group, but strictly Japanese. So I am looking to make it broader. One thought I had was to make a villian group which was mainly asian who are trying to destroy U.S. because our past history. The big three would be China, Japan, and Korea.

    Hope this helps.

P.S. the hero team could be the White Tigers (Tigers are the symbol of the direction of west.)

  8. After reading and replying on the PRIMUS thread, I thought I'd pose this question for Ideas. I'm trying to come up wit a villian group (and/or agency) that would be Martial Arts in theme (of course), would be international in flavor, and more high-tech than mystical.

    Thanks in advance, Ninja-Bear

  9. Re: About PRIMUS

Thanks for the compliments Pergrine. As for names, I mine as well throw this out for S.A.T. - S.T.A.R. Special Tactical Adavance Response. It may not be the best, but it does seem better (and more patrotic) than SAT. my homebrew organization was E.A.G.L.E. (Elite American Government Law Enforcement). :eg:

  10. Re: About PRIMUS

Food for thought. What Martial Arts are you going to give your agents JmOz, if any ? I think depending which style you give your agents can reflect how you view your agency, this is regardless of the mechanics/effectiveness of said manuevers.

For example, if you give assault agents Commando style, it can refelct an agressiveness of your agents and/or its military background, even if it is still a civilian agency. If you give it a Police Self-defense, then it reflects a more civilian thought. Or you can give them generic martial arts call it what you want, but (in my opinion) gives it a more comic/cinematic feel. Agent four doesn't have Martial Arts because the brass feels that it is a waste of time.

As I said, the mechanics aren't as important, but consider these three responses towards your PC, and assume none can harm your PC. Agent one throws a knifehand (killing Strike) at you. Agent two tries to grab your wrist (Martial Grab) to handcuff you. Agent three tries to kick you in the head (Offensive Strike). Agent four just tries to punch you (Strike).

    Any ways, just thinking. :)

  11. Re: how do you like your fantasy games

Well I think by default my friends have always played the standard 75 + 75 point characters. But, in my Oriental Hero I made the characters 110 + 50 points. Martial abilities are so expensive! But as most on this thread, I'm game to any power level. :king:

  12. Re: About PRIMUS

Switching back on topic, I was thinking about what are you going to do to SAT? Having a rivalry with the group (which ever one you play) was always fun. Now last I heard, that group got absorbed into Primus, but I think that if it is kept seperate you could use it as a foil; even if their just window dressing.

P.S. Thanks for the positive comments about PUMA. One reason that I have been a lurker for so long (besides computer problems) is that while I think that my ideas are good, I'm a litttle heisitant to trow them out to the public. :o

  13. Re: About PRIMUS

An idead I had for Primus is the P.U.M.A. (Primus Ultimate Martial Artist). Of course he is a Silver Avenger. Last night I thought about his role in the organization. He is charged with investigation, and neutralization of threats from the Martial World.
