  2. Re: Stopping Natural & Unnatural Disasters An alternative would be a Megascale AoE Body Drain against the water (water has 6 Body per hex according to TUB).
  3. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever I don't think you'll find anyone disagreeing that the Ten-Eyed Man was stupid. Unless it's Thor 2?
  4. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever Found a context scan for Penn Station. It's not clear from the art, but Spidey implies that there's all or part of one or more trains amid that wreckage.
  5. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever I'd like to hear Gary's interpretation of the fight as well, if he's able. If he is, I'll quote it for you.
  6. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever Dumb Hulk still fights more cunningly than I've seen Firelord fight. What does he do besides blast at things? If Spidey's too close for Firelord to blast and Firelord is too proud to run away, what other tricks has he shown besides swinging at him?
  7. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever *shurg* More than 10. Less than 30, surely. 20? Maybe. I could see Spidey taking down Firelord in less than 20 of his hardest blows.
  8. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever Reiterated for Chuckg's benefit.
  9. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever Apparently.
  10. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever *This* argument might make sense if all panels represented the exact same passage of time. The caption tells us what Spidey is doing, and the art shows us. It doesn't tell us how long he spent doing it. He doesn't have to be moving as fast as Quicksilver to hit a guy a lot in a time-compressed panel.
  11. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever Yeah, jumping around a guy real fast and hitting him a lot is a power Spidey has never shown before. The caption in that panel and the art combine to make it clear what's going on. You can deny it if you want, I don't care; it just makes your argument look foolish.
  12. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever You're right about the icon, at least. Remember earlier when I said that this argument might make sense if you could find a panel of a bunch of shadowy Thors or a Thor-colored whirlwind surrounding Firelord? I'm saying it again now. Some artistic conventions are designed to show a character doing something really fast, or really often. The "bunch of shadowy versions of a character doing things in one panel" is one such convention that got its start, I believe, in old Johnny Quick comics. It's a time-honored art trick. A bunch of shadowy Spideys attacking Firelord in one panel, therefore, is a symbolic representation of Spidey attacking Firelord a lot. It's an artistic shorthand. Your comparison here is a false one and has no merit unless you can show similar artistic conventions being used in a Thor vs. Firelord fight. Tell your friend that, too.
  13. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever Scans in the thread have already shown that Spidey can hit Thor hard enough to make him feel it, so his point has already been argued against.
  14. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever Has Firelord?
  15. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever *Marvel* claims that Rhino isn't armor dependent. See Incredible Hulk 104 and 124. See here: http://www.alaph.com/spiderman/enemies/rhino.html for summaries. Or see an earlier post by ChuckG that said the same thing. Or just keep arguing that the sky is green. BTW, that Rhino isn't shown outside of costume is irrelevant; it's the costume that makes him look like a Rhino, so the character loses his theme if they show him out of his costume. It's also got his main weapon on it, so he's not really motivated to show up without it.
  16. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever FYI, i'ts been pointed out, and then reiterated, that Rhino only relied on his suit for his powers in his first appearance. He has since had superhuman strength and durability independent of the suit.
  17. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever No problem.
  18. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever ASM 282 and SSM 190 are two examples of him doing just that. Those are the two I'm aware of; there may be others.
  19. Re: Worst comic book superfight ever Times have changed. Spidey's a better fighter than he used to be. Here he is hurting a gamma-virus enhanced Hulk is ASM 382. He doesn't win this fight (a thunderclap at close range puts him down), but he at least hits hard enough nowadays to make the Hulk pay attention.
