  1. I was going over my hard copy of "Murderers Row" and got to wondering about one of the "narrators" (other than Harbinger of Justice).  Where can I find information on the "Master of Crime"? And where can I find the book he appears in, either hardcopy or digital (preferably .PDF format)

    thanks to anyone who responds.

  2. I only got the first two disks of the TV anime. I would try to stat Wild Tiger about the beginning, but with the sute Doctor Saito gives him. What is your opinion, Watched by the sponsors, or Social Limitation: Beholden to sponsor?

It would depend on the hero.  Wild Tiger and Bunny, Beholden.  Blue Rose, because of her career desires, also Beholden.  Dragon Kid and Skyhigh, Watched.  Rock Bison - Watched but at a higher level.  Fire Emblem some other instead because he is the head of Helos Energy (maybe beholden to stockholders instead?)

  3. Anybody seen any Hero System stats for the characters in the superhero anime series Tiger & Bunny ? It seems like a natural tie in. (Where else can you have supers sponcered by Pepsi NEX and Bandai?)

I haven't seen any either but would like to see/discuss it.  At what point in time would you do "Tiger"?  Start of series, when he started having problems (trying to avoid spoilers) or the second movie?

  4. what series could you explain please?

It is a web-based anime like series that you can find on the Rooster Teeth website.  It has great fighting sequences and a very good plot/story.  Volume one of the first season is completed (and available on blue-ray or DVD) and we are waiting for word as to when volume 2 will start web-casting.

The name of the series comes from the names of the 4 main characters and also refers to a color associated with the same character, thus you get

    R - Ruby Rose (red)

    W - Weiss Schnee (White)

    B - Blake Belladona (Black)

Y - Yang Xia Long (Yellow)

    The initals are pronounced "Ruby"

The episodes so far are on Rooster Teeth's site as are a general trailer (being featured now) and 4 prequel trailers each one featuring one of the girls.  The were released in the same order as the name.

I highly recommed the series and am actually somewhat suprised that mine was the first post about the series considering the overlap between Anime/Animation fans and RPG people.

  5. Just wondering has anyone else on the Board been following this webseries?

If so where do you think the starting points for the characters (especially the 4 main girls) should be? High Heroic? Low Superpowers?

Has anyone actually started to stat out the characters or monsters?

  6. Re: What Do you think a good value would be ...

END in this case' date=' I would think, would be a function of percentage, basically. If the Mega-corp is worth 18 Trillion, and has 200 END, just divide 18 trillion by 200 and there you have your value of each point of END.[/quote']

Hmmm I hadn't thought of that It would solve the problem of scale as in large corp vs small or corp vs nation tresury

Ah' date=' Math; is there anything it can't do? ;)[/quote']

Actually grill me a hamburger, but it can tell me how long and at what temp to do it at ;)

  7. For comparing the Kingdom Rules End value to actual cash?

Yes I know the value is abstract and varies from overall scale to overall scale.

In this case it is a rule of thumb estimate on how much reward asked/damage done/things stolen to reduce a typical Cyberpunk Mega-Corporation's total by 1 End?

    1 million money units? 2? 5? 15?

    Thanks for your time.

  8. Re: Kingdom of Champions expanded character sheets.

The Gurkhas did earn a reputation for stealth.

I heard/read a story to the effect that to prove it a Gurkha unit was to infiltrate a British encampment and mark every bit of equiptment or building they could. In the morning every building had multiple marks on them along with every vehical and large piece of equiptment.

The Sentries who where on high alert never saw a single Gurkha or even suspected they were there.

  9. Re: Large Scale Combats

I think it was a quick simplification on the part of the player and the GM. We had just listened to another player's hour-plus long side mission where he had to be the star of the show and infiltrate the Nazi headquarters only to get captured. While this was happening' date=' we did our rolls for the bombs and mines we were planting as a diversion (and to get rid of the tanks, for several obvious reasons.) So we blow up the tanks, this puts the Nazis in the "scattered" situation, then the French Resistance attacks. GM did not have all the units broke up, but they reviewed the rules, and decided the Morale roll was the first thing that should occur. It just ended up being the last thing to occur as well. :D[/quote']

Yep people forget how much moral can effect people in combat. Remember Han Solo (initally) chasing a whole lot of Stormtroopers in the original Star Wars? Perfect example, at least until someone made thier "rally" roll.

  10. Re: Large Scale Combats

I used the Kingdom Rules to simulate Gang Warfare in Hudson City - scaled down really nicely. If I can use it to simulate a group of 2-3 "gangers with gats" at a time' date=' it can do Platoons.[/quote']

Hmmm did you use it for abstract or did the units actually manuver? And if so what scale did you use?

  11. Re: Large Scale Combats

I guess in some way the Kingdom rules are more detailed...if you get past how much of an abstraction and subjective stat STR et al are...dunno' date=' haven't ever played it out, so you may be right.[/quote']

There is large scale and LARGE SCALE. If the smallest unit was a regiment/brigade/division then I think kingdom rules would work OK. But the reason I'm asking is for situations where the base unit would be squad/platoon or (maybe) company size

  12. Re: Large Scale Combats

We used them last night in our WWII game. But it ended up being "The Germans (already scattered) make a morale roll' date=' at -4, fail, and are routed."[/quote']

Did you use the same scale as in the book? And I assume the units had several attacks to represent for example the regular infantry and the machine gun in a squad

  13. I know there is a formula for calucating average defense in 6th Edition, I saw it ... once but now dispite useing every search combination I can think of, I can't relocate it. Can some one help me?

Edit/Correction: I was unclear, sorry. When you have sectional defenses, what is the formula for calcualting the average defense?

  14. Re: Best Martial Art for a Bodyguard?

I asked' date=' because I would then envision the bodyguards martial art to be a reflection of him, more than the boss. By fixer, I think you mean buisness/suit type?[/quote']

Not exactly, in cyberpunk this is the guy/gal who "arranges" things and/or the person who knows people who know people and can bring them together. In fact in the Cyberpunk 2020 system there was a specific role called "fixer"

  15. Re: Best Martial Art for a Bodyguard?

When you say Boss' date=' i'm thinking underworld. Is that correct? You may want to choose an art based boss. Example, Yakuzza might be karate, unless he hired a ninja. Traditional street bosses would have dirty infighting. A mercenary might have commando, or krav maga. A Russian boss might have sambo, etc.[/quote']

The Boss in this case is a "Fixer" type, in his case he is not part of any "mob", and he does have some ligitamate business. I might give him some levels in HTH, but he knows it is best to leave it to his bodyguards.

  16. Re: Best Martial Art for a Bodyguard?

I am not familiar with The Destroyer paperback. Is there any references with real martial artists. I love the quote though. Very cool idea.

According to the series (mentioned several times in various books) Sinanju is the sun-sourse of all other martial arts, all other are just pale reflections of the original.

So there is no accurate information as it isn't a real art.

I don't know how long the series ran (if it has stopped), when I stopped it was in the high 90's (I think)
