  1. "You could adopt a location name or mascot around which to base the name. Something tough or noble. Knights Draconis, Knights of Orion has a nice space-type feel, Order of Orion, etc." For location name, I actually considered the New York Knights but since it's this world's JLA/Avengers I nixed it. Still, if they are the Knights, then the NY part can be tagged on by the locals affectionately. Interesting SFX for Speed Demon but I still think he needs a code name even though he has a Public ID. It works for Sapphire. Hmm.. maybe he changes his name to his Hero ID!
  2. "Couple of questions. Did Azure Paladin choose this team because of the Knights connection? If not, it becomes too coincidental, choose a team name with no connection to knights." As noted, it's very much a work in progress. Going from something that was set before (default name was the drab name Guardians), I decided to revamp them. I like the idea of a GLC corp type with a knightly motif. I think I like the motiff a bit much though as noted by team name as well. Incidently, the Azur part is about 1 hour old so it can be let go, just liked the nod to the GL's. "What medium are we talking about possible publication? Comic, or text only?" Pipe dream at the moment. waiting until I either win the lotto or become a well known writer. "What brought these people together?" Not sure. I had a 6 parter plotted but kinda tossed. Basically the series starts out with a strange object crashing into South American. Sentinel is part of a black ops team that investiate but the VIPER analog beats them there, wiping out most of his team. In the battle, Nova gets woken up from cryo and kills some of the VIPERs. In the end, he hauls the battered alien into US government custody. Meanwhile, Lady Silver knows Titan in their civillain ID's (Titan isa public ID though) through high society/charities. She is investigating some strange occult stuff. Titan just gets dragged into the story when Nova goes berserk, escapes, and fights Titan to a standstill in mid-air. It takes Lady Silver to calm the alien down and it starts a strong bond between the two. Earth Force is new.. not sure how he fits in yet. Azure Paladin (whose last name, Star Knight, was even worse), is kinda the same way. The core has always been in my mind lady Silver, Sentinel, Nova, and Titan though Earth Force and Azure Paladin (I'm hating that name more and more) are founders and important as well. I think I'll toss in a teleporting street level hero as well to investigate thos occult crimes from another angle. Maybe Earth Force looks into it but is kinda new to the whole thing and gets a lesson in the street. Anyway, Nova is on the run and Lady Silver is refusing to hand her over. Titan is trying to call in some lawyers who are gealing with their first alien in recorded existence. Sentinel, stil la civillain, pops in and tries to take Nova back. Some blank stuff since everything got so revised. The origin wraps up with the heroes confronting a serious occult menance, new heroes are here, everyone cheers and I think it needs some work. Anyway, Lady Silver, Titan, and Earth Force are the traditional good guy types who want to make the world a better place while Azure Paladin has a duty to defend this part of space so she might as well join the team. Nova has nowhere else to go, and Lady Silver is her new best buddy anyway. Sentinel gets a costume, the name, and is ordered to baby sit. Sentinel btw has like 3d6 unluck. Anyway, suggestions for names? I'm not worried about Nova too much. The only other Nova I know of are nothing alike and it's a real world. Speed Demon is kinda common too (and the characters are obscure) but that name is SOOOOO overused. Suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!
  3. As noted earlier, I'm working on writing up some characters for a super hero world I might work on one day. Yeah right. Anyway, I tend to be bad with names and was going to run some by for some help. Thanks. Team Name: The Knights (possible The Silver Knights, which connote purity and is a nice nod to the Silver Age; the team in general has modern day realism but maintains a silver age morality in terms of doing the right thing, killing is bad, etc... to show that just because things are bad, you don't have to be part of the problem). Members: Lady Silver: (note, if I go with the word Silver in the knights, I would need to change this): leader and sorceress: psych limits include CVK (total), Compassionate (Str), and sworn to protect the world against magic threats (might change this since not sure if I REALLY want that type of psych limit, seems cheesy). Basically a defender of people who would rather make the world a better place than fight crime and demons. Very charitable and quietly active as a reformer. Sentinel: battle commander and government liaison. Think Solid Snake of Metal Gear Solid forced to baby-sit a team of rank superhero amateurs. The government wanted to call him Captain Freedom and dress him in stars and stripes but this former Special Forces commando refused. Instead a more militaristic and utilitarian uniform that is only vaguely superhero. By the book and professional but not happy in the team. Nova: alien energy projector (energy blast and flight only but good physical stats and damage reduction to be resilient) and last member of her race. The ark that she was on crashed into Earth and killed the last of her people, fleeing from genocidal invaders. Hard edged and willing to kill. Psych Limits include Protect Innocents (Str), Hatred of Violent Criminals (Str), and Enraged if Innocents hurt. Might have a desperation for acceptance Disadv even if no points are taken. Starfire of the Titans if you removed her loving nature and replaced it with a confused and lonely teenager lashing out at the world. Able to speak the major Earth languages (English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Arabic at least). Earth Force (SO needs a name change): Prince from a small but rich country of Africa (think Eddie Murphy's country in Coming to America). Team Brick (60 str) with some earth powers and presently a college student of political science. Sketchy on personality but mostly affable and personal with a noble air. Only psych limit at the moment is Noblesse Oblige (Str) since he's newly created. Some inspiration from Geo Force of the Outsiders. Azure Paladin (needs a name change possibly): a GL homage. Basically the newest member of an order of galactic knights (12 in total) with quasi-mystical origins. Inspired in part by Starguard from Allies as well. Has a host of energy powers (EB, various entangles, force wall), and very powerful armor. Can also form energy weapons (swords HKA, maces: HA's, etc...) I'm still working on her personality but she's kinda flirty without being silly, strong-willed and responsibility without giving up the ability to cut loose. One of the more normal supers out there. Of Asian descent (and no, I will not name her something like Blue Samurai) Titan: inventor and filthy rich: kinda like Defender and Iron man admittedly. Typical super powered armor (may overhaul to be more distinct, perhaps a bit knightly as well). Paraplegic but not a drama case over it. He lives an active life, including mountain climbing and kayaking. Very heroically motivated with CVK and Code of the Hero. Speed Demon (SCREAMING a name change): B-level actor who suddenly gained speedster powers. Out for himself mostly; joined the team for publicity for his first major motion picture: Swift Justice. Rather annoying, self-centered personality but is tolerated for powers and Lady Silver's belief that he can be a true hero. That's the team for now. I might toss in a street level but avoid an angsty Batman type. Someone who Mr. Terrific's personality (JSA) would be used instead or a thrill seeker.
  4. An exact number isn't need, just an idea of how many paranormals exist in your world. Just asking since I'm writing up a world right now. Who knows, I might win the lotto and self-publish. Anyway, I decided personally to have the main team be the first supers of a new, modern generation and decided that two generations (Golden and Silver) had passed before but were either dead, retired, or "other" (storyline secret, sorry). The reason is that this approach gives more freedom and lets the team have a much greater impact on the world: without needing insanely high point totals they are still the premier team (JLA or Avenge equivalent). I like it. It's intended to feel similar to he beginning of the Silver Age where there are a handful of solos and one or two teams, maybe three teams at most which are distinctive. Has anyone else tried this approach? The Champions (and DC and Marvel) just seem too crowded for my taste. In your campaigns, are you characters one of many or are they it? What about the villains? Do you re-use the same ones or have a large number and make paranormals relatively common? Thanks.
  5. I hope no one minds me asking the question, I was just curious. I haven't seen too much lately in my WOTC store but then again it reorganized to be more general games and cards. On the other hand, there seems to be a number of products that are planned. Personally, I am pulling for the line (I've bought the Hero 5th edition, Champions genre book, Champions Universe, and CKC with plans for others possibly) since it's a great system and the best to simulate super hero comics. Thanks.
  6. Hmm... I wouldn't allow the DNPC disavd for 32 amazons. It just gets out of hand and they have never shown up on the show needing help (except to track down the rogue Amazon). Also, I would advise against the desolid power since she is then affected by beams with the affect desolid advantage though that makes no sense with her SFX. Ego and PRE should get boosted if possible.

  8. I never liked CLOWN much and as for Sanctuary... no. I can't see sharing space with someone who tried to kill me last week when he was trying to blow up a bridge. Many supervillains are psychopaths, meglomaniacs, and the like... not who I want to chill with.
