  1. Hey all, I posted this image in my Campaign thread, but I thought it had a sort of life all its own. I drew a daily drawing of these three villains together. I designed them almost 20 years ago, but never did anything with them.

    The Challenge:

What origins, names, powers, writeups would you give the characters?

They can be a team, individual heroes, etc.

Point range should be between 300-400 points (my campaign is 250 points starting).

AND... just to prove I'm appreciative, I'll award the best three writeups with personalized drawings of your favourite characters doing whatever it is they do. So? Contest closes February 18th. That's three weeks.

Tracking down evil minions of the Outer Deities, Professor Horrorshow and Your Mind Buddy keep Superior City safe for decent citizens. These are two Player Characters from my Superior City Campaign.

    Some villains.

I don't know who they are or what they do. I designed them in the 80s and never, ever did anything with them.

Any ideas of who they are, why they are villains and what powers they have?

    Hey all.

I've been super busy these days, but not busy enough, it seems.

Days after starting a "drawing a day for 2009" I signed a contract for another Graphic Novel. Figures.

I am posting the drawings on my livejournal site. Enjoy. Most of the drawings are of characters from the Penemue Universe. Ask questions, make comments. Join in the discussion.

    Wow, nice work Curufea.

All my minis are 28mm + scale so the WW scale suits me just fine.

I didn't buy any of the last Heroclix release as the scale was incredibly way too big to use for anything.

I use a lot of Steampunk elements in my campaigns. It's always nice to find more stuff I can use.

  6. Re: Inceptum Terminus World Book

It might be interesting if the Corps get the financing to take over from government assistance. They could use private security companies like Blackwater to provide muscle or they could have in-house "security forces" to test all that experimental equipment. I honestly think that people would gladly hand over their personal freedoms to these corporations as long as the populace is entertained and basic needs are met. Bread and circuses. 50 years of Corporate Wars would be an interesting time. Who emerges from the wars as the dominant companies? Who are the losers? What are the differences between the companies? Any good guys?

What about corps outside of the US?

My only concern about the validity of a Taliban/Russian treaty would be that psychologically Russia has been horribly scarred by their adventures in Chechnya. Domestic fears of Islamic terror cells would make a treaty with radical theocracies hard to fathom. I understand that your timeline takes place before the major terrorist attacks on Russia, events like the 2002 Nord-Ost siege, the 2005 Beslan school tragedy, but the Taliban are essentially the Mujahideen that fought the Soviets in Afghanistan in the 1980s (supported by the US and Rambo no less).

I think that the loss of nuclear material or the unsafe storage of that material is more dangerous as the nuclear weapons might fall into the hands of radical third parties or sold to a rouge state like North Korea.

More realistically the war could start with a nuclear accident such as a Russian nuclear sub sinking off Manhattan and leaking large amounts of Radiation (maybe driven by a hurricane).

    Just some ideas.

I have a few more ideas re. the corporations, but I'll have to wait until I'm less tired.

    Great stuff, repped!!

  8. Re: Biggest Shock!

Woo.. Biggest Shock was definitely when the Teen Hero team accidentally destroyed the universe and then had to put it back together. Definitely a really good chance to Retcon the campaign after 25 years of baggage. The players loved it as the Teen Heroes remembered what the universe "used to be like" and were constantly surprised by the consequences of their arbitrary choices. Now that those characters are graduated and more "adult heroes" they are exploring the new world like explorers, finding subtle and some not so subtle changes to the world they thought they knew. Kind of adds a whole new meta-layer to the game.

Oh man.. this is incredible.. Thanks for posting the Legion of Doom. That's super cool.

Nice work. They look very usable. I think I may bump up the iconic heroes and villains a bit, but it's nice to have a place to start.
