  1. Ok, stupid question prompted by posts of others. If a character successfully grabs a target, can he immediatly throw or squeeze the target? Thanks, mightybruce
  2. Lets say I have a character with DEX 10 and figured SPD 2. Then I buy +8 Dex OIHD (-1/4). If I want the character to have a SPD of 4 in the HID, do I spend 12 active points (10 real) to add 1.2 to the SPD in HID or do I have to spend 20 active points (16 real) to recieve +2 SPD in HID? I ask primarily b/c Herodesigner "indicates" I need to do the latter. Thanks, the Mighty Bruce
  3. What kind of twisted DM makes there players that paranoid? Anyway, back to the topic. When I was younger, my criteria for a good system centered around realism. But I'm older, and what I want nowadays is for the game to be fun. Example, simple percentile systems are not fun. You roll a d100 and your done. Boring! On the other hand D&D 3rd is fun. Roll d20 to hit AC, roll damage OR cast spell, roll lots of damage, OR cast spell, give pluses to your buddies, OR perform Feat to trip foe, OR etc. Simple? Not really. Realistic? Are you kidding!? Fun? Oh yeah!
  4. You know it happens. Recently, I had a player with a Hulk character do a Move Through by jumping at a flying robot. Unfortunantly, The Big Green Machine had just woken up from being at 0 STUN. He did so much damage to the 'bot that, in spite of his massive defenses, he did enough damage to himself to knock him back to -7 STUN or so. Then he fell about 8". Funny! So, how have your players knocked themselves out?
  5. Variable Effect That could be true. But it seems Variable Effect lets you get 2, 4, or many powers for the price of one.
  6. Variable Effect I found out the potential abuse of the Variable Effect recently. Think about it. For a +1 Advantage (which doubles the cost), a character can have an Aid that effects 4 different powers at once. That's 4 Aids for the price of two. Seems a bit much
  7. That's right. I agree. Me too. So do I. Right on brother. You said it. Absolutely. Preach on. Yes Sir. Yeah, probably. No Doubt. Right on the money. You go. I'm normal. No your not.
  8. I resent being titled an "Incompetent Normal." I am not normal.
  9. I hate it when people post just extend the thread (hehe!)
  10. Mr. Long, I’d like to make sure I understand something. Suppose a character has a 3d6 Aid with the advantage Variable Effect: May Add to STR, STUN, END, REC (+1?). Then, to use the Aid, the character would roll 3d6 and distribute those points, however he chose, amongst the aforementioned attributes, right? I ask because the text on Variable Effect (including the example) could be interpreted to mean that such an Aid power would add 3d6 to each attribute. This seemed unbalanced to me, though. Thanks, Bruce Hilbert P.S. I’m very glad to see the success of Hero Games. Great system, very high quality supplements, wonderful support, low prices. What more could a gamer want?
