A couple of other posters suggested something similar, but why not just baseline the campaign to normal attacks, then invert the Club Weapon Maneuver into something like "Killing Blow" with the same penalties as Club Weapon, but transforming Normal DC's into Killing DC's? Seems to me to be the simplest approach

I guess technically that would happen with allot sfx of regeneration...though the hymen isn't always broken during intercourse and even if it is it isn't always painful.

My HS girlfriends Champions character was a female teen-aged regenerating brick, who she figured was probably a virgin when she got her powers, and often pondered the problems this was going to cause her character in regard to intimate relationships. Of course, the point was moot until she bought off her "Doesn't Known Own Strength" Psych lim, which required her to make an ego roll to use anything less than casual strength (40 or 45, IIRC), and if she flubbed the roll by more than 3 she had to use her full Str instead of casual, so these thoughts in play were mostly along the lines of Rogue style "I can't ever have a boooooyfrieeeend..." wangst

There's also a major application of the Law of Unintended Consequences here.

 

Fantasy settings are different than the real world. Magic is usually manifest.

Magic users assume a tactical and/or strategic role similar to siege weapons and WMDs.

Disabling such assets becomes an important element of planning.

Institutionalized rape is already used, often in religious clashes, with far less practical motivation as a (loathsome) battle practice.

I shudder to think how much worse it'd be in this kinda situation, and I have met more than my share of players who'd follow this same line of reasoning, especially if they found themselves in open conflict with this religious order.

 

Not that I endorse this stupid misogynist paradigm, but be aware that there's a briar patch there.

Based on your phrasing, it sound like you were underwhelmed BECAUSE she was too excited. I have to admit, that doesn't sound like a bad thing - a girl being too excited about me. I mean, she's in for disappointment, and not just because I think gangbangs and erotic knifeplay are both potentially too messy and I like being the only exciting pointy thing in the room for sexy-times, but still, excited about you sounds like a net positive, no?

No spark on my side at all, and while I coulda faked my way through in the name of chasing personal satisfaction, in the past when I've made that mistake it's proven much uglier to disengage after the fact.

I have fallen to what the Welsh call Hiraeth, a deep, bitter, intense longing for the things I've lost.

I tried to watch porn today and it reduced me to tears, with the realization I'm too broken to even try anymore.

Funny, the more my friends and family seem to try and help me, the worse it gets when I'm alone.

Update: I have been considering using the original Traveller system for this campaign (don't fret HERO fans' date=' I'm also thinking of doing a HERO version). For the map of the world, I was thinking of using the map of Volturnus from the Star Frontiers game

 

I found my old copy of an old TSR mini-game, Revolt On Antares, which I had forgotten about. I considered using the map, although it's a bit small and has too much water for such a hot, dry planet like the game world. I'll probably stick to the Volturnus map, but I'll use characters from the Antares game as NPCs.

 

There is an online character generator for Traveller. I don't have Book 4, but I can use some of the careers via the online site. Or I can modify the skills from the original books.

 

Also, I'm thinking of using this star as the planet's sun. Or I can use this one, since I like its medieval name.

I still have a copy of that game.

This is sounding fairly awesome my friend, and right up my alley. Glad to chime in and help, and if you want to put together a FTF tabletop group I can probably come up with players.

Yep, from the Superpower Showdown I vended at last month.

 

I made all the Minionette's gear (except the feather headdress on the bottom left, she makes & sells those herself), everything I'm wearing except the mask, and did the conversion work for the armor my Henchthug is wearing, as well as helping with the leather portions of his own work (he does mail)

Tend to agree with a lot of what's being said, but I just had to chime in with a little love for my personal all time favorite Cyberpunk book (which also spends most of it's time in "Non-urban" but street level environments)... "Hardwired" by Walter J. Williams.

This might be a good place to diverge if that's what you're looking for. 10mm marketed itself better for whatever reason, then the public caught on.

 

The cultural ramifications are actually decently sized - "nines" as slang for 9mm Pistol now becomes "tens" ... the face of Hip Hop and Rap in your world changes!

 

It would be one of those alternate changes that's just enough to let you know you're somewhere 'different' without overly impacting the game mechanically.

Coulda happened too... the Bren 10 gained a big hit of popularity when Sonny Crockett started using one on Miami Vice
