  1. Haven't played Hero/Champions in a while so I'm a little rusty.

     

    Can anyone tell me if I have to apply Power Advantages to both the Power and it's Adder?

     

    I'm trying to build a telekinetic Missile Deflection power, so either:

    Missile Deflect [bullets/Shrapnel] 15, Reflect Anywhere 20, (BoECV) = 70,

    or

    Missile Deflect [bullets/Shrapnel] 15 (BoECV), Reflect Anywhere 20 = 50.

    Well, people try to disarm the team's Martial Artist, but he's really good (the player has been using him on and off for more than a decade) so they usually fail. I'm building a guy to be the group's blaster (lower DEX, fewer Combat Levels) so the bad guys probably won't have as much trouble.

    1/2 phase to switch slots is not worth anything. Because you can still attack in the phase. Except for full attack actions.

     

    I'm a little confused by this, giving up the ability to move and attack isn't a disadvantage?

     

    I'm sorry if I'm coming across as a mini-maxer or powergamer or something - that's really not my intention, I'm just trying to build something correctly.

    Am I being abusive? It seems a pretty standard constuction to me - Isn't there a laser rifle with multiple settings in the examples of how to construct a multipower?

     

    I'm not sure about your problems with OAF either, a gun is a pretty standard focus.

    Is it legal to buy negative recovery on an end reserve?

    If so, -10pts for -1 END at end of the round (it stops at zero, right?).

  6. I've had a character with a gun multipower before (each slot representing different clips) but I haven't played in a while so need some help reconstructing it.

     

    I buy the pool with 'OAF: Gun' and 'Takes 1/2 a phase to switch slots' (though I can't remember how much that's worth - anyone?)

    I then buy ultra-slots as 'OIF: Clip of AP rounds' (or whatever), right?

     

    If I want to make all the slots 'Beam Attack', do I put that on the pool, the slots, or both?

    How do you handle attacks against you're newly constructed bridge?

    I suppose if it's made of stone it has the DEF and BOD of stone, if it's made of diamond it has the DEF and BOD of diamond, but shouldn't the diamond bridge cost more?

    It's just the image I had in my head at the time, each dupe puts his hand on the shoulder of the dupe to his left, the last one putting his hand on prime villains before prime villain launches the uber attack.

     

    None of the powers would cost much, so any agencies that monitor the "power level" of folk in their universe wouldn't have much of a file on him (which screws over connected heroes) or consider him much of a threat (which screws over overconfident heroes).

    Let say I want to create a talent that would allow a character to get a +10 for escaping holds and grabs called Hard to Hold Onto (this is for a character who is not a martial artist and so won't be buying Escape). Now I want to use this for a NCM, but I don't want the talent having to cost more because of the doubling for every point over 20. This would be a case where I would use the Defender Exploit.

    Okay yesterday I was quickly designing a character over lunch using Hero Designer, and wanted a power that would only stun an opponent but still lifted the charcter up and throw him back a good distance (possibly causing knockback damage). But as I was working I got to thinking if this was legal, I mean the attack does only stun and while you could still count the bodies to determine KB (like when you add KB to PRE). Sure enough, looking in FRed, it states that stun only does no KB. Now I figure the easiest way to still design the character is to add does KB to the construct (and save up the points for double KB like I originally intended)? I am curious to see what other people's opinions are.

     

    But it also got me thinking about the cost of Stun Only. Does the positive really outweighs the negatives?

     

    Pros

    1. Your Attack can never kill a living creature

     

    Cons

    1. You can not break down a door or destroy any other physical object

    2. It does not do KB (a -1/4 limitation)

     

    Opinions?

    In a Heroic (i.e. "Good") campaign I can see a strong argument for Stun Only being -0. In a more shady setting I'd probably allow -1/4.

     

    In either setting though, I'd say "Body only counts towards KB" would be -0 too.

    They have X amount of duplication (identical duplicates) and:

     

    Xd6 Attack o' Choice (maybe with Explosive and Personal Immunity)

     

    Xd6 Aid (Attack o' Choice)

     

    Xd6 Aid (Aid (Attack o' Choice))

    Uh, maybe this should be in the Champions area... crap.

    Nope. Usable by Others means the other guy is using the power and has to be hit to absorb the attack.

     

    What you want would be an absorption with limitations and an aid to match the absorption usable at range and linked to the absorption. I think?

  14. xd6 Absorbsion, usable by others (+1/2 or +3/4, I forget), ranged (+1/2), Fully Invisible (+1)...

     

    Would this construct allow someone to transfer the points gained from Absorbed attacks to another party?

    e.g. Bob has the above construct, he's hit with a 3d6 RKA, he Absorbs 5 Bod - can he transfer them to Bill instead of himself?

    I'm not up on the new transform.

     

    I want to have a "virus" that is transmitted through the air. When you catch it you get +10 str, +10 Con, +10 dex, +1 spd (+2 total), a psych lim of enraged (by basically everything), and you have the transform power always on for those around you (you breath through your mouth, drool a little, and transmit the virus).

     

    How do I build this?

     

    XD6 Major Transform: Human into Human with "Rage" virus.

    Victim gains +70pts worth of stats, +[X x15]pts of powers, -20 to -30pts of Disadvantages for the Berzerking...

    There's rules in the Transform section on how the total points gained or lost by a transform give the victim a bonus to their Body value.

    He's the true Icon of Good. More so than any other character in any Comic Universe (yup, more Good than Wonder Woman or Captain America).

    He's wholesome, honest, honourable - the best person you'd ever get the chance to know.
