  1. This is kind of a weird question. I can't find the rules about dispelling a persistent power, but I figure the power just turns back automatically on on the character's next phase...but if that is so, what happens if you dispel Speed. I'm kind of thinking it means that the character doesn't get their Speed back until post 12 (which they get even at Speed 0), but I might be off on what happens when a persistent power is dispelled. Thoughts?
  2. I'm looking to make a fire power. It's a killing attack with area affect (radius) and constant. So, each turn the hex and the people in it continue to burn. I want it so that the people who leave the hex continue to take damage (because they're on fire). Is this covered under the advantages, constant (or uncontrolled) and area affect, or do I also have to buy sticky. The logic for taking the sticky advantage is this: I'm hitting the hexes every turn, right? And so the people in those hexes take damage, but when phase rolls around again, if they're no longer in the hexes, they won't get hit. Or does the constancy of "constant" refer to the effect on the things that are in the hexes (or ever in the hexes as they get hit every turn, or do they?). All this presents three possible outcomes: 1. The hexes get hit every phase, anyone standing in them during that time takes damage, but if they leave the area, they're safe. 2. The hexes get hit once, but anyone who is hit continues to take damage on subsequent phases. 3. Every phase the hexes get hit, and anyone who has ever been in the area while the effect was active continues to take damage whether they're still standing in the hex or not. My question(s) is this: if constant+area affect equals outcomes #1 or #2, do I need to take sticky to get it to #3? If constant+area=#1 or #2, how do I buy #1 exclusively or #2 exclusively? If constant+area=#3, what sorts of limitations do I get for buying it down to #1 or #2? The last two questions are for future reference. Last question, if constant+area already equals #3, what happens if I also buy sticky? Does the sticky create a new blast radius or does it mean that people who are suffering from the constant effect can make other people suffer from the constant too?
  3. Re: Sci-fi Mech Build I have a mechwarrior kind of campaign up and statted on Obsidian Portal. Here are my "in process" mech rules, and here are some of the mech stats (I have them in .pdf and in files for Hero Builder). Mechs are built around 615 points. Hope that helps.
  4. Re: Power Suits Remote Assault Drones I would build them as robots and then summon them (I assume that if you're carrying them around and that they are therefore, "local" to the environment). Your orginal question though seemed to have to do with linking or unifying them. If you buy a focus as unified or as physical manifestation, my understanding is that all the powers have a PD/Ed associated with them and that if body is done, a power is lost. If the powers are unified, one body destroys all unified powers. Not so with linked. You could set up a limitation, "Origin point must be the same for both clairsentience and blast", but all this seems kind of complicated. Your attack has a point of origin for its damage and its sense. Bought through a focus, it has PD, ED, and Body (sort of). But you still don't have movement. Also, the thing's interaction with oddball powers is sort of up in the air. What happens if someone, for instance, hits it with mental illusions (robot class).
